RobWrath
Anyone got any good ideas or examples of Imperial Backpacks converted for Chaos? I can think of a few things to try but I'm sure others have done it already. And probably better! Brother Dallo
If you're referring to the backpack that comes with the standard Chaos marine (like the one in your avatar picture), that's not technically a "Chaos" backpack. It's an Anvilus pattern backpack, so there's no reason a loyalist marine can't use it. Likewise, there's no reason you can't use a "standard" tactical marine backpack on a chaos marine. They're both just pieces of equipment, neither Chaos or otherwise. Having said that, there is the certain mental image of a typical Chaos Marine who nine times out of ten will have the Anvilus pattern backpack, but that's not to say you have to use it and only it. Maybe that doesn't answer your question, but I hope it's helpful to know anyway. Dallo P.S. If you just want to go down the standard route, throw on some spikes, chaos stars and impaled skulls. MaliGn
The favourite one I ever built started a a black Templars one, cut the vents off and replaced them with the legs of a fantasy helstrider and added a horn growing out of the middle of the backpack. Worked a treat for my Slaaneshi possessed champion. I probably also added a trophy pole for good measure. RobWrath
I'm thinking of how to make the standard imperial design look like the Anvil design, I. E. Lengthening the vents away from the main body of the backpack. My simplest idea is cutting the vents off, pinning them the right distance and then adding guitar string hosing to connect. So I was specifically wondering if anyone had any great ideas of other ways to do that. Trevak Dal
I went through and converted them to not be anvilus power packs because it was an extra handhold. I've seen someone used plasticard as the spacer above the wire, that should give you the right shape on that piece. Plus, you should be able to make a template and cut out a bunch of the extenders at once.
