dbecer01
So given the new Speed Freeks set, and all of the great models in it, how likely do you guys think new Ork models would be within the next 2 years? The current line doesn't compare to the new Ork models. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352097-new-ork-model-range/ Share on other sites
toaae
What, like the entire line?No way. A snowball's chance in hell. The Boyz kit is still great, being very versatile and full of options. Mega-Nobz, Nobz, Mek Guns, Killa Kans, Deff Dreads, Gorka/Morkanauts, Flash Gitz, and probably some I'm missing are all relatively new kits.I would like to see new, plastic kits or upgrade sprues for Tankbustas and Kommandos. Finally, while the vehicles of the new buggies are cool, I am not a fan of the orks on them. I sure hope they don't try and make more models that look like those. And the new buggies lack options, which I also hope isn't a further sign of the direction the kits will be going. Warhead01
So given the new Speed Freeks set, and all of the great models in it, how likely do you guys think new Ork models would be within the next 2 years? The current line doesn't compare to the new Ork models. In the next 2 years? I wouldn't bet on it. Maybe, just maybe, next edition with the release of a new codex. However it may be longer still if 40K 8th edition follows the path of AoS, where the next edition uses the books from the previous edition. I'm not saying we would need a new book rather that the release would have to come in a similar window with a codex or a starter set to get players off the ground and for Gw to not miss a strong product sale window. Even still I for one am done buying Orks. I have far too many boys to consider every buying any more, collecting for 20 years will do that. I think your safe for the next 2 or more years. I'll agree with you that the current line doesn't compare. The new models kinda suck. But then I wouldn't compare 6 models to the vast variety already available. The new model are extremely limited to their one build and as nice as they look don't encourage me to own more than one of each of them. (I've stopped at just 2 of them.) Honestly for what they are they might have well been easy build snap fit models. In a way, when and if there are new Orks model to replace the old ones I hope they are all easy build snap fit. Saves time for people to know they are only getting this one thing and it only looks this one way. On a more practical level, I love the old snap fit Orks boys, they are packed with details and easy to paint. Well, that's just how I feel about it anyway. I'm sure others won't see it that way and that's fine. Lucio
I'd be surprised to see new Ork models within 2 years, but if we do it's more likely to be a new model type than an update of an exisiting model. The area we're weakest on is HQ models, there's Grukk, a Big Mek in Mega Armour (made from a Meganoz kit) and the Deffkilla Trike, so if we see something new here it'll need to be either a Mega Armour boss kit or a Prime Ork, or a new named character (like we've just seen for Chaos) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352097-new-ork-model-range/#findComment-5206791 Share on other sites
