TheKneesofRaj
Hey all, Thinking of building an Eldar list. This would be a first for me. I wanted to have one of the main components of my list to be a Shining Spear unit...supported by a HQ or 2 also on bikes. A jetbike death star I guess. I want to play to the army's strengths (not super competitively though) but also have at least one unit that is threatening in close combat and the Shining Spears seem really cool. What units would be best to complement this unit? How many shining Spears should I have in there? Which Craftworld should I be (I was wanting to do Alaitoc so most of my force would be benefitting from it other than this unit when they're in combat)? Your thoughts would be appreciated. Slasher956
If you are going bikes then you want saim hann Outrider Detachment as the spears benefit as well. Also want vypers as they are bikes and so can take heavy weapons and move & shoot without the -1(craftworld trait), take a unit or two of windriders (3 or 4s) with scatter lasers for more long range fire power HQ - Autrach with laser lance (replace with craftworld relic one) & use the index option of a banshee mask, make this guy the warlord and take the trait of +1 W & a 6+ FNP, keep him near your spears (4 in a squad with Exarch times 2)... take a warlock with the +1 to hit power. I'd also take a small infantry battalion for CP and objective holding.... (2 HQs & 3 troops... you can get this for 500 points with 3 Bright lances)... this formation can be a different craftworld to the bikes (aliatoc or Ulthwé for the saves) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352276-shining-spears/#findComment-5213496 Share on other sites
Marshlands
There's not much that directly 'supports' spears other than every offensive and defensive spell you have (including ynari). Basically that's why theyre a death star, charge them up and charge them in and they pretty much do it solo.
