Dos settles on Legio Gryphonicus: Reaver Titan assembled

The Hobby Butterfly strikes again!

Anyway, this time I have assembled a Reaver Titan. No name for the moment but I've settled on Legio Gryphonicus for the colour scheme and Titan legion. Here she is without the armour plates; these have been left off for ease of painting and access to the superstructure of the Titan.

I seem to remember that there's an Adeptus Titanicus painting event being run in January by our very own Captain Semper so I'm holding off with painting for now and will assemble a Warhound next.

Thank you for looking. :tu:

Hate to be the guy, but you might need to do some filing, you got the lower legs wrong way around, the eagle goes to the back, (See pictured 13).   Reaver legs claim yet another victim.  This affects at least the knee plate and possibly also the shin plates...

Really? Aaaargh. :pinch:

Fajita Fan: Semper mentioned it a couple of times. Still needs official confirmation. :)

Welcome onboard Dos!

I know, the legs for the Reaver is the single most challenging aspect of the entire AT range...

Don't know if you have the rules handy but here's an interesting fact: Gryphonicus is so full of Reavers, all official Maniples may substitute anyone Titan for a Reaver and still maintain the advantage the Maniple confers... Maybe you know this already but you're in for a lot of Reavers!

Also, yes, my intention is to run an AT event in Jan... more soon! :)

I can live with Reaver legs being the worst thing in this game, despite the frustration they cause. :tu:

Chaeron: thanks for the advice! Will get onto it in the morning.

Semper: I'm actually fine with plenty of Reavers: they're lovely models and once I've built two or three the rest should be easy-peasy! :D Can't wait to read more info about the event: I'm putting off painting my Titans because of it.

Lord Uglor: Cheers!

Yeah, I've got a warlord in box (my kids don't know it yet but they are giving it to me for Xmas to spare the wrath of wifey) so I am very tempted to wait fir the contest in January

Reaver legs are tricky mine resulted in a few upset moments. I couldn't get them to reposition much without messing about the fitting of the armour plates.

@dosjetka what carapace weapon are you going for?

Are you going to magnetise the carapace? I fancy the opportunity to swap out the weapon For a warp missile, if/when it gets released and IIRC the carapace is the only weapon mount on the reaver that is easy to magnetise

I like a lot of Reavers as I feel it gives plenty of flexibility on the table due to being able to move further than Warlords.

And they look great.

Looking good. I haven't noticed the leg thing. It's all Greek to me (not looking forward to assembling my first Reaver).

Nice start, I like the pose and the ruins. For the legs, it is learning by doing. Always have the instructions next to you when building the models and dry-fit, dry-fit and dry-fit. I put a quick guide in my thread with pictures for the reaver's legs. Maybe worth pinning but I don't know how to do that.

Any progress shots on that Warhound yet?

Judging by the loadout on your Reaver, you've got at least one more Reaver and likely at least two Warhounds, unless you split the box, which is a legal, Gryphonicus Axiom Maniple, assuming you sub out the Warlord for a Reaver. What are your plans, if any, for your collection? Are you collecting for collecting sake, or are you working towards a gaming force?

One of the cool things about Gryphonicus is the Reaver conversion opportunities afforded when you replace other Titans, so you can model a more stocky, heavily armoured variant to represent the tougher, slower Reaver or make a more lithe Reaver to replace a Warhound. I've seen some cool conversions which make use of Armiger Warglaive legs. I've also seen someone suggest using a spare Warlord middle shoulder panel to replace the Carapce armour on a Reaver to represent the up-armoured version, which is a substantially cheaper conversion, assuming you know someone with a spare shoulderpad. I'm sure someone here would post you one if you were stuck.

Keep up the good work.
