Starting my GSC/NIDS allied army.

It is themed after The Locust swarm from Gears of war.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

quick background.

Hive Fleet Locust was thought destroyed by the Ultramarines and imperial navy,  yet it's tendrils were insidious.

It's hive ship crashed on a hostile world. Its outer shell almost barren of all life, the worlds original name is gone, it was virus bombed to destroy any and all organic life. Yet, there existed Hives on this world, underground, built around mining colonies.

When the hive ship crashed, there were few surviving, or slowly dying the organisms went dormant, all except for the Genestealers. THey burrowed into the ground, and made their way into a small mining dome at first.

Over the years, they stole children from outposts, and indoctrinated them into the brood. initially only doing this on the most isolated outposts, and careful never to take to many.

And thus the urban legend spread around the world.

The fringe mining colonies however were slowly mining more and more year after year. to the surprise pleasure of the hive cities, and upon inspection it was noted that the fringe colonies were devolving into abhumans. Some looked like ogryns, others ratlings, but all had Pale Skin. It was often overlooked, and played down the extents to the abhumans, due to their high output of raw mineral.

The urban legend would describe them as having pale thick skin, with Tough ethereally like calluses.

These "molemen" were mining, not for the minerals, but to reach other tyranid organisms that eitehr fell into crevasses  on the surface or burrowed beneath. IT was noted that the organisms they reached were highly damaged. and in an undocumented and unexplained action towards the greater tyranid organisms was taken. The cults were "salvaging" them, it is noted that damaged Harpys they have reached they have retrofitted with imperial equipment. to make them fulfill the roll they initially did.

At the moment it is noted that This outbreak, and behavior is limited to this system, admech and biologus have sent observation specialists to document the strange creations and amalgamations taking place in this imperial backwater.

---------------------------------------------------------

Started this the other day, pictures will come friday.

First project:

Harpy: REaver

retro fit:

- onsalaught cannon replacing the main harpy weapons

- retro thrusters. harpies damaged wings, mutated into spindly limbs.

- Further augmented and controlled by two GSC cultists now riding the harpy.

should look similar to this

Really surprised noone has responded to this.

An absolutely brilliant idea, and kickass conversion. Hats off to you, sir!

Agreed this is an amazing looking project. This forum doesn't get much traffic it seems. Please continue to post.

This project is going to be slow, as I think about it; building 1-2 at a time, and painting them both before building the next thing.

atm, i have a Brumark being planned out.

going to use a Maw Krusha and some nid + imperial bits to make it. =)

I also got half a tooth and claw box, oh! forgot, I have some ogryns coming in soon.! ogryns will end up being my abberants i think.

These are some incredible, and very inspiring, conversions Triszin!!! I’ve had a couple GSC ideas bouncing around my head lately, one of which is along a similar-ish idea. But more of a Dark Mech/ Mad Doc reanimating Nids. It’s great to see that with some planning, it’s entirely possible to make biomech Nids and make them look terrific. Keep ‘em coming!!!!

Only just saw this thread. I was actually considering making my genestealers into locust but I don't think I can since you've already nailed the execution of them far better than I ever could. Keep up the great work.

of course you can! genestealers are RAD locust are RAD

ya, biomech nids sound like good fun.

+ if you build em right you can use them for either darkmech or nids

Amazing models as always, make me think about some ideas for my Zerg/infested GSC

As for the UR-Ghuuls, I think as long as you graft a flesh borer (or devourer or whatever you arm them with) onto the model somewhere I think it would work fine, still 100% GW and not exactly modeling for advantage (Ur-Ghuuls are a bit taller than a gaunt)

I was just thinking the melee builds for em. would I need to change em at all then?
