Lysere
Don't forget that the Teeth of Terra has an additional D3 attacks even when using another weapon, on top of not costing points. Kind of want to try a Relic blade and Teeth of Terra combo for anti infantry but I don't think I have any models that fit that loadout. Son of Cathal
I'm just getting back into the hobby and trying to get up to date with the new rules and Primaris fluff. Can somebody explain in simple terms what a Smash Captain is? Sword Brother Adelard
A smash captain, also known as Slamguinius to Blood Angel players is a Captain armed with Storm Shield, Thunder Hammer and equipped with a Jump Pack. They are extremely mobile, resilient to damage thanks to the shield and deal out some damage as well thanks to the solid 3 damage on the Thunder Hammer. However, their real strength comes from the strategems that BA players can utilise. With the right combination of them, you can take out an Imperial Knight in one round of close combat! This month's battle report in WD utilises two of them, so you can get an idea there. Now, with Sword Master as a warlord trait, our own Marshals become almost as potent, hence the focus here. Correction: D4 on the Thunder hammer thanks to their Warlord trait. ;) Also one of their big strengths is the instant re-allocation via Stratagem which in combination with the 3d6 Stratagem and small base lets him hit basically anything anywhere on the board with his D4 hammer (hence why that's the only thing that got nerfed for him). The +1d3 attacks Stratagem and the fight twice/fight after death Stratagems are just cherry on the top. Sword Brother Adelard
Thanks, I've never played one, nor do I have the codex, so detail was fuzzy. arigatous
Correction: D4 on the Thunder hammer thanks to their Warlord trait. Nobody uses Slamguinius as a warlord. It's a model meant to die sooner or later. Also, it doesn't really need D4, because D3 is more than enough to kill everything it needs to kill. That's a huge damage increase and trading in your warlord to kill a Knight or similar early is definitely worth it. If you will see any warlords there, ping me :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352502-the-best-captain-smash-is-now-a-black-templar/page/3/#findComment-5230137 Share on other sites
