Well, July has not been a kind month. I have had hardly any time but I did manage to finish my Master of Signals and the tactical squad I was working on, just. Picture to follow tomorrow, and I’ll try to catch up with the tread as well then.

12 Months of Hobby July Summary

With July complete, we're officially over the halfway hump and have begun the journey home. The Challenge saw 13 returning Frater pledging for another round, with two newcomers joining Challenge this month. Of the 14 Frater who vowed, 13 managed to complete their vows, with most members completing additional models, thanks in no small part to the ETL. Juul saw us complete an impressive 64 models, three of which were vehicles. This leaves just 1 Frater who failed their pledge for July.

Although Papa Nurgle laid me low for two whole weeks, he did not prevent my July Completion, he did however severely lessen it, I'm scaping in with just one of the 7 Terminators pledged, the Assault Cannon.

For August I'll be completing the rest of the squad, and finishing my ETL Vow 5

Now for August, this is going to be a hard month as I still need to finish my ETL vow.

I, Trokair, embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of August pledge to complete one Rapier Quad Mortar by month's end.

I have done 26 out of 90 modles from my ETL Vow, so if I cannot finish the rest, which does seem likly rigth now, then I will finish at least the Quad Mortars. Picture is from my ETL vow:

Dwango, that bases on the Venomcrawler is so good, how did you do the water/ice effect?

Hey thanks Trokair! It was my first attempt at an ice base. I followed this tutorial -

it's somewhere around the 3 hour mark. I just put my own spin on it by creating a well using mainly cork and some green stuff, before adding resin. I added slate and stones to try and simulate the space marine effect that's in the video too. The resin did seep out of the cork so it's definitely best to have a less porous edge to it.

 

You've definitely got your work cut out with your vow. I hope you make it! I really enjoy looking at your finished work!

I, Dwango , embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of July/August pledge to complete a Chaos Fallen Lord by month's end.

I Dwango rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX on the side of the Chaos Space Marine Forum and vow to complete

1 fallen lord with a plasma pistol and powerfist.- 88

of total value 88 points

on or before September 1st, 2019. Success will bring me eternal glory and failure will doom me to wear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end

This will hopefully mean I have time to get a spawn or two in for my next vow!
