old git
For me the GW prince is a bit dated now so I'm after ideas for alternatives, specifically Khornate. 3rd party or kitbashing not a problem. Anyone... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352579-alternative-daemon-princes/ Share on other sites
Tokugawa
Currently I use a GW Khorgorath as my Khorne prince, and a GW Thaumaturge as my Tzeentch prince. Nice kits, reasonable price, and the height of the models are simillar. BrassClaw
I would suggest giving Creature Caster a look. They have some cool alternatives for daemon models. Personally I like the King of War model which would fit you Khorne theme. Although I believe hes bloodthister size You might want to also look at the Lord of Slaughter, Lady of Strife or the Lord of Malice Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352579-alternative-daemon-princes/#findComment-5221425 Share on other sites
Mekhitar
I use a balrog with daemon prince arms (magnetized for options) and DP armor bitz on the shoulders and legs. The extended wings give him a much bigger profile, but with the character rule this edition it's not a significant issue. He gets a lot of good comments :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352579-alternative-daemon-princes/#findComment-5221507 Share on other sites
adreal
Use the angron model Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352579-alternative-daemon-princes/#findComment-5221516 Share on other sites
Cryptix
I converted a sons of horus contemptor into an iron warriors khornate daemon prince with the fleshmetal exoskeleton and two claws. old git
Creature Caster kits look good but they're a bit big for DP size. Any ideas for putting wings on a Khorgorath? Sception
Morghast could make for a decent knornate prince if you paint the ghosty bits as blood or lava. Quixus
Creature Caster kits look good but they're a bit big for DP size. Any ideas for putting wings on a Khorgorath?Aren't they a bit too big (and expensive) for a daemon prince? Morghasts look cool as Thousand Sons DPs, and if you want too they are even cheaper than the normal model. Kraken
Creature Caster: Lord of Slaughter Lady of Strife Lord of Malice (Technically undivided but who cares) Titan Forge: Lord of Fury Mierce Miniatures: Great Axe Malacant Infernii (this contains all variants, although the big ones would be for bloodthirsters) Limbo Miniatures: Demon Vanguard (Out of stock atm) Alternatively, if you only want wings: Wargame Exlusive 1 Wargame Exlusive 2 Kromlech Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352579-alternative-daemon-princes/#findComment-5221801 Share on other sites

Kraken
Great selection there krakjen, cheers. I really like the Mierce minis, any idea of size comparison? You can use the base size as a reference for a rough estimation. For the one I linked for example, it's a 100mm wide base. I found this picture for a comparison with a 40K mini: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352579-alternative-daemon-princes/#findComment-5221874 Share on other sites
Scribe
The smaller of the Mierce ones are close to the GW Daemon Prince, but a bit thicker, more girth. The larger, is a bit bigger than the new Bloodthirster. McGibs
Here's a few of my princes: For my two flying princes, a main goal of them was to make them compact and transportable. One of my biggest pet-peeves is models with giant stupid wings. http://mcgibs.com/wp-content/gallery/miniatures/chaos_cacoprince01.jpg Cacodaemon: Pingpongball, lots of greenstuff, and bits. The face is from the WFB Chaos Chariot http://mcgibs.com/wp-content/gallery/miniatures/chaos-juggerlord01.jpg Minotaur foot prince. WFB Cryptfiend, minotgaur head, and some ork and ogre bits. Horns/helmet is also from the Chaos Chariot. http://mcgibs.com/wp-content/gallery/miniatures/chaos-bloodpuncher06.jpg http://mcgibs.com/wp-content/gallery/miniatures/chaos-bloodpuncher02.jpg Punchy prince. AOS Kogorath(?), bloodthirster head, plastic daemonprince wings, and WFB Ghorgon fists. Gederas
I like your Khorgorath-based prince McGibs, but that Cacodaemon is the star for me. Did you take any WIP shots of it? McGibs
I don't have any of it's construction, unfortunatly. I have these primed shots though. http://mcgibs.com/wp-content/gallery/workbench/chaos-cacowip01.jpg http://mcgibs.com/wp-content/gallery/workbench/chaos-cacowip02.jpg (I had a few extra pipes and stuff added on) And the early stages of Mr. Punchy http://mcgibs.com/wp-content/gallery/workbench/chaos-punchy.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352579-alternative-daemon-princes/#findComment-5222065 Share on other sites

dice4thedicegod
There’s also a lot that can be done with mixing up reaper bones minis with some GW accents: [img/]http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/gallery/image/249900-70543be5-edb5-41e4-9298-6f53066a5c1a/[/img] Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352579-alternative-daemon-princes/#findComment-5223674 Share on other sites
CMDR_Welles
Personally, the plastic Daemon Prince kit is one of the best GW has ever made. It is so versatile, and with a little creativity, it is a perfect base for customizing your own Prince. Here are some of mineBog standard with a Defiler mask Okbok B'Gok, Daemon Prince of Tzeentch And a Daemon Prince using greenstuff and a ton of extra bits out of my bitzbox All you need is a Daemon Prince kit, a little imagination, and a handful of different bits.
