noigrim
Can anybody reccomend me a free, user-friendly 3d edit program? I would use it to resize stuff to begin with Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352600-3d-editing-software/ Share on other sites
Fajita Fan
https://www.tinkercad.com It's how I designed my own quake and Gatling cannons, I also used it to modify other weapon files I found online to print at AT scale. These plasmas were adapted from another model entirely but look pretty similar in spirit to the official ones, I had no idea when we would see separate sprues so I printed them a couple of months ago. noigrim
Thanks, works like a charm After some hours of "gruelling" work I've managed to make this nifty basilica: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352600-3d-editing-software/#findComment-5221935 Share on other sites

noigrim
Imperator mockup, not sure if it needs yet another church in the terrace, a green area with a sculpture would look cool Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352600-3d-editing-software/#findComment-5222102 Share on other sites
Fajita Fan
Ah, I see it now. Very cool, just make sure you get it printed at like 10 or 15% infill. Fajita Fan
Upper part is way too big. We use PLA plastic on our printers, I've read good things about PETG. FWIW I'm not into printing models to proxy for ones that I can buy (to each his own) but I enthusiastically support making your own weapon and armor conversions. No official model exists for the Kaban machine in "Mechanicum" so I'm using a ping pong ball to mock up what I'll eventually 3d print. I need to finish designing the gun mount shoulders, sensor orbs, void shield generators, tentacle mounts, and some extra armor plates which will be scalloped to fit the curve of a 1.5" ball. I may be able to to just print tentacles. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352600-3d-editing-software/#findComment-5222201 Share on other sites
noigrim
Cool exterminate exterminate I would use smaller eyes, that head is very tauesque You could insert some visors inside the ball http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/thumb/b/b9/Kaban_Machine.jpg/350px-Kaban_Machine.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352600-3d-editing-software/#findComment-5222268 Share on other sites

I need to make some extra armor panels with the same curvature to break up the outline too. looking better already! I'd stretch that about 30% taller.
