Marshal van Trapp
So for my emperors children army I made a daemon prince with a mask and I wanted to paint it as a mirror finish (like a mirror mask) but I dont want to just paint it pure white or silver with some ard coat on top to make it shiny, any ideas? Bryan Blaire
Paint it with a sky-earth chrome effect, with the midline being your horizon? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352707-painting-a-mirror-finish/#findComment-5224504 Share on other sites
Ovidius Incertus
Molotow Liquid Chrome marker or perhaps a Rub N Buff wax finish, silver leaf probably. You'd probably have to paint the mask first with either of those, definitely if you want to use the Rub N Buff, and carefully paint around it to not mess up your work. Laughingman
If you happen to have access to a airbrush alclad ii chrome/Holomatic is as good as it gets. Sadly they are not brush friendly, They also may have a line of spray cans but have never seen the results in person.. Alternatively some of the brighter Valljeo Metal color silver colors might be close second (brush friendly)... Kinstryfe
I'll second molotow liquid chrome. It's about the best I can think of and it can be controlled pretty well with one of their small pens. NovemberIX
Krylon makes a chrome spray that works well, it doesn’t go on too thick to obscure details. I’ve tested in on rhino hatches and I’ve used it on some terrain (though I did add other effects to lower the gloss and reflective factor because chrome stands out so much). Slips
Molotow Liquid Chrome gets another endorsement from me. Closest thing Ive got/used that came to an actual mirror finish. Evil Eye
I likewise would recommend Molotow. It's the shiniest stuff on the market and it's much easier to use than say Alclad.
