How do you play around the 50% reserves rule?

So I'm trying to make lists more using FW, I am.

But our best troop delivery option by far is the Stormwolf and, since normally it will carry a beat stick in it, it's almost impossible to make a list with 2x Stormwolves. Moreso when for 1cp we can outflank any infantry.

How do you manage to keep more than 50% of your army out of reserves when we have so amazing reserve options?

Well you dont have to reserve the storm wolves. They can deploy normally. Current edition does not restrict fliers to reserve. And it is my understanding that the occupants of a transport are not considered in reserve either. So unless you are spending crazy amounts of CP on outflank or are running several drop pods or terminators I would be shocked to learn you a bumping into the 50% rule.

To my knowledge, drop pods are the only transport you can put into reserves. All other transports have to begin deployed turn 1, and units embarked in them are considered deployed, but don't count as "on the board". Embarking units during deployment is one way to finagle overall deployed unit count to get the +1 to the "go first" roll. This also means that all those embarked units aren't counting against the reserve limit.

Woho you guys made my day!!!!! Stormwolf here I come!!

have you seen my theory craft dual stormwolf post?

you can use all kinds of transport related tricks.

For example start a JP HQ (RP or WL whatever) inside and disembark turn 1 to gain free movement then advance....bam you are still in range of your flyer to give aura buff and they shield you from incoming fire

you need to remember to embark your troops to fill the seats before you fly off though (blood claws or wulfen whatever)

the fenrisian fire drill!
