olsol
Happy new year everyone, quick question: Could you take the "Indomitus Crusaders" specialist detachment when taking an army of deathwatch? It could potentially make Primaris extremely powerful when combining a few stratagems... Any help on this would be absolutely awesome! Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352793-specialist-detachments-deathwatch/ Share on other sites
Qui-Gon
Review the specialist detachments stratagem for what detachment it can be taken for. It is very explicit for what kind of detachment it allows. In short: no. Deathwatch doesn't run Space Marine detachments, they run Deathwatch detachments. At this time, until the option is offered via an FAQ, it is not an option. That would be pretty powerful on an Intergressor squad, though. That's like 19 power fist attacks lol. Raven1
It is mighty restrictive. I have heard that it was unintentionally so restrictive, but might be wishful thinking from forum wishlisting Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352793-specialist-detachments-deathwatch/#findComment-5227729 Share on other sites
Vel'Cona
It is mighty restrictive. I have heard that it was unintentionally so restrictive, but might be wishful thinking from forum wishlisting I'm sure the FAQ is close incoming, as we've seen this concept bandied about for BA, DA, and even SW. RAW is subjective enough that an argument could be made for Indomitus availability in all SM subfactions, so GW definitely needs to stamp down on this one quickly. RAW it is just Codex: Space Marines and none of the other sub factions. So it needs to be FAQ'd whether or not DW get lumped is a different matter. It's a different enough faction I could see GW saying wait till you get your own, but at the same time DW have received almost all the Primaris toys (bar lieutenants, which there is already a mechanic for in the codex) and the banner bearers which would be nice but waving a big old flag just doesn't fit the stealthy xenos killing elite of the adeptus antares in my mind. It's been a couple weeks hasn't it? It should be due soon?
