RandomMarine
Hi peps I was just wondering what strength magnets everyone is using . I want to magnetise my titans in preparation for the inevitable upgrade sprues and unique resin weapons . Mendi Warrior
Hi, I used various magnets. They are respectively: Hobby magnets N42 Neodymium (5x1mm, 4x1mm, 3x1mm)Spellcrow N??? Neodymium (3x2mm, 3x1mm, 2x1mm)Supermagnete N45 Neodymium 1x1mm (primarily for magnetising the heads and weapons of my knights) https://www.supermagnete.fr/eng/disc-magnets-neodymium/disc-magnet-diameter-1mm-height-1mm-neodymium-n45-nickel-plated_S-01-01-N Don't hesitate to check my project log as I did a few experiments and reported on my findings. Many others did as well. I encourage you to check the various project logs. And let us know how you went for it and your experiments/findings. Chaeron
This was something I agonised over initially, as with other projects I’d gone with N52 to make sure things held! However, for all of my stuff for this, I’ve been using N35s (5x1mm) and they’ve been perfect. I’ve used these consistently across all classes of Titan - for ease and convenience of swapping weaponry, with no issues. As Mendi suggests, many of our project logs detail the various ways we’ve chosen to magnetise - so you can decide on what suits you best! CMDR_Welles
ONLY use N52. What few cents more you spend, saves you the heartache and frustration of weaker magnets. Fajita Fan
I ordered these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073JZ42VJ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 from Amazon and they work great on my Warlords and Reavers and really small 1/16" magnets from K&J for my Warhound weapons. Edit: In my experience once you start getting into 5mm magnets the strength doesn't matter as much for plastic weapons, for pewter I'd use a stronger grade but my arms haven't fallen off yet.
