Battybattybats
I thought it worth starting a discussion of the new and forthcoming Mechanicus terrain and objectives. There’s been the recently released Derelict Factorum with Imperialis style Mechanicus pieces and damaged pieces of Sector Mechanicus terrain. Warhammer Community today is talking about a new Manufactorum (it says there’s new sprues but all I can see is included in the Derelict set). The imminent new campaign box has a fallen techpriest statue like the one from one of the Imperialis buildings as well as an objective device with a mechanicus logo, a tracked version of the medical servitor and a return of the electro-fencing pylons not seen since the Battle of Macragge set. Images of Kill Team Arena show some sort of Mechanicus cylinders and Mechanicus ammo crates. The image of the Sector Frontierus killzone has some new additions to the Reza Ruins with an intact building and ruined bits of roof. That’s quite a lot of new pieces. What do people think of them? Magos Takatus
I hadn't really spent much time thinking about them because I've been so focused on the new tech priest model but considering that I have been trying to base my models in the wastelands outside of a Forge World's main factories this stuff is perfect. I could do with some tall line of sight blocking terrain and this seems to be what I'm looking for. Subtle Discord
Once my current Mechanicus army project is done (or at least closer to done) I'm going to start work on a table with a three-in-one concept and these releases should help nicely. What I want to do is a range of tiles that can be set up as ashen wastes (to match my basing scheme), a damaged combat zone on a forge world, and a denser forge world set up with little/no damage. The idea is to have each section/theme stand on its own or blend any two horizontally or vertically in whatever combination; want ashen wastes leading into a manufactorum complex? Or a half bombed-out city fight? Maybe more open planes with some light buildings? I can see the concept in my mind, now I just need to figure out how to make it work. On a related side note, I think the new industrial drill kit is screaming to be turned in to a counts-as Termite. I wonder how they compare in size. I wonder how they compare in size. The Genestealer cult models are a goldmine for Admech uses. I really dig that terrain. (I hope you don't find my puns boring) I hope for your sake the dimensions turn out okay but it looks a bit too narrow to me. I like your table plans. I'd like to be able to do the same myself, but I don't think I would have enough room. Vash113
I will say that drill looks quite interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing what we get with this round of releases for the GSC and Mechanicus. Plus there's that new Tech-Priest with some kind of nasty long-ranged weapon, something I've been wanting on our HQs for a while. Battybattybats
More info on the drill includes it being able to be towed by a servo hauler! Also, coming with a part so a Goliath can tow it! Making it even more superb industrial scenery but also especially good for use with Exploratory, Archaeotech, Blackstone, Necron uncovering narrative gaming. MagicHat
Ray Dranfield is a genius indeed. Here is his twitter, where he gives tips for the Sector Mechanicus, Imperialis, plasma conduits, and I can only imagine there will be some with the drill: https://twitter.com/RayDranfield Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/352943-new-mechanicus-terrain-and-objectives/#findComment-5246944 Share on other sites
