brother carc
So I haven’t played 40k in years and I’m trying to get my head around the rules again. Could someone help me check my reasoning on this. 1) tanks can’t use acts of faith because they don’t have the correct ability 2) BUT.... a canoness does have this ability 3) AND... if you use the Vessel of the Emperor’s Will stratagem it affects all <Adepta sororitas> units within 6”, without specifying that they must have the ability themselves 4) Also if you give the canoness the book of St. Lucius then all of her auras increase by 3” So could you have a canoness use Hand of the Emperor, Spirit of the martyr, or Divine Guidance and have it effect nearby Immos/exorcists as well as sisters? Atrus
This is correct RAW. I fully expect it to get FAQd to exclude tanks as they did with the old AoFs and the Imagifier. Slasher956
I’m hoping they faq it the other way and give our tanks the convictions and AoF ability Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353070-tanks-using-acts-of-faith/#findComment-5233398 Share on other sites
Servant of Dante
If they don't up the power level of the AoFs themselves they may was well let tanks attempt them :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353070-tanks-using-acts-of-faith/#findComment-5233669 Share on other sites
Trokair
Seeing as the tanks are crewed by Sisters, and the Exorcists is even described as a mobile shrine it would make sense if they could perform acts of Faith. Mossback
CA 2018 FAQ came out today, and the bubble for Strategems was declared invalid. You can still you innate abilities of the Canoness, such as the Reroll 1's, but it doesn't affect the one use abilities. Dominoris
The bubble for strategems Q&A was specifically regarding the Book of St Lucius extending a strat's range. It doesn't. You still get Vessel's standard 6" range tho. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353070-tanks-using-acts-of-faith/#findComment-5235037 Share on other sites
Montford
I do hope that the Sisters get either a Unit which can affect repairs on vehicles -or- an Act of Faith which can do so. Atrus
Vessel with Spirit heals our vehicles. If you think 3cp is worth 1 to 3 wounds. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353070-tanks-using-acts-of-faith/#findComment-5247449 Share on other sites
Montford
Vessel with Spirit heals our vehicles. If you think 3cp is worth 1 to 3 wounds. True but I am thinking that will eventually be FAQ-ed out. Funny thing in my game yesterday against Craftworld Alaitoc I never even had a good opportunity to use Vessels and so I never did use it. Still won! But I really could have used a mechanic. I think a Sister model in Power Armor, hair disheveled and hold a huge wrench on her shoulder with her boltgun slung would sell like hotcakes. I don't know where people keep getting this idea from that these things are somehow loopholes. It's pretty clear from both the overall design of AoFs and the very specific wording of Vessels that this was intended to be the mechanic. Besides, it's not like it's particularly powerful. As for when it's worth 3cp to use it spirit for the heal, only if A. you have multiple tanks and multiple squads missing wounds/models, B. you have at least 2(preferably 3+) tanks that are 2 or less wounds below their degrade point, C. You're about to give your opponent the turn on the last turn of the game and had 3 extra CP left over and just need a handful of units to survive to win. Anything less than these and that 3CP would almost certainly be better spent elsewhere.
