Trueacaling Chaos with Primaris

Recommended Posts

Well, if you were interested in a Khorne army, I think mixing the Primaris with AoS Khorne stuff might gice quite nice results, as if I recall correctly, the AoS Khorne miniatures are rather large, so kitbashing would probably be relatively easy.

As for other Chaos armies I cannot really say, but in the 30K subforum there is a thread, by Umbral and Ryltar Thamior, that has a couple truescale conversions based on highly modified Primaris.

Some bits fit.

The arms are too small and the chests can work, but you have to build them up.  I have spare "holding" hands so chopped up Reiver bolt carbines and used Intercessor arms as a mock up.  Heads and pads work for sure.  The rest is just trimming off the extra flanges on the knees and breastplate and some "dressing up" with chaos terminator bits, which fit really well.

I've seen plenty of good conversions around the internet; fair few on Pinterest and quite a lot on Instagram, if you're hunting for inspiration.

Personally, I've used them for possessed with a bit more bulk and stature than the current kit gives us:

Heads, shoulder pads, backpacks, and hands are all scaled so you can use Chaos bits.

Arms are trickier, non Primaris ones are too short but this can be disguised with some poses or a powerfist.

Obviously the aquilla has to go. But the other bit that's distinctly Primaris is the flair on the knee pad. You can trim that down in various ways.
