Incoming: Custodian Venetari

... I just got the weridest feeling that we've done this before, somehow...

Honestly they look interesting.  It's not a visual aesthetic that I think I'd have naturally associated with the Custodes, but I actually rather like it.  I mean, it's a very light look, not the 'Emperor's Guards' but as the Latin goes, the Emperor's hunters, sure.  I'd like to get a few other angles but yeah, I rather like them.

Okay, so it's not especially unusual for FW releases to have vague similarities to unit's I've been designing, but the fact that the Custodes jump infantry unit I'd been developing were called 'Venator Guard' is downright eerie :happy.:

Anyway, these are beautiful models, think they balance the bulkiness of the Custodes with the jump harnesses' size really well, and the use of archeotech weapons is a nice indicator of the kind of advanced tech used to keep such large warriors aloft

Queen's "Flash Gordon" song is now bouncing around in my pointy little head.

It will be interesting to see if/when these miniatures get rules for Warhammer 40,000.

"The Shield Captain is hit! I'm going in after him!"
