Progenitor
Does anyone know the colours/techniques used for painting the bronze on the Forgeworld studio Custodes models? Brother Tyler
These may not be exactly how Forge World's team did it, but these are how the Warhammer Community page suggests: Painting Custodian Guard Warhammer Community YouTube video Adeptus Custodes Vehicle Armour Warhammer Community YouTube video (links originally found on Forge World's Adeptus Custodes page, also found on our Adeptus Custodes Resources index) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353365-how-does-forge-world-paint-custodes/#findComment-5241518 Share on other sites
Imren
Prime black. Airbrush the entire model with Scale 75 dwarven gold. Mix 20 drops of Druchii violet with 2 drops of Scale 75 inktensity purple, thin the mixture and with the airbrush neatly shade the recesses with this mixture (you might need to go back and forth with the dwarven gold and purple shade if your overdo any of them) Using paintbrush blend in GW liberator gold on the lighter flat areas and the edges. Highlight with Scale 75 citrine alchemy, blend it into the very brightest spot as spot highlights and the edges. (optional) if you want to push the highlighting even further with higher contrast then make tiny spots of Scale 75 white alchemy on the citrine alchemy highligts. Imren
Most metallic quality paints works fine when airbrushing (GW, P3, Vallejo) but when you thin them out for nicer seamless blends using paintbrush then Scale 75 holds together the pigment and acrylic base better when thinned heavily, but beware of using them on wet palettes, they (Scale 75) metallics separate quicker than GW, P3 and Vallejo metallics.
