jester_prince Posted January 26, 2019 Share Posted January 26, 2019 So I was out of this hobby and GW had to drag me back in with the HH books on audible and a awesome new line of minis. Once I saw the Primaris models I got sucked right back in and knew I had to have them (even though their lore sucks). So I decided to resurrect my old Chapter (the Iron Hawks, I really hope theres no other offical chapters with the same name) and work in the new models. I will be phasing out the mini marines so I wont bother posting pics of most of my older models. I warn you now, they aren't codex standard. Yes that is camo, no I won't change my mind. Quick question I can't figure out, are Scouts still needed in times of Primaris? I assume they recruit new recruits the same as they always did they just become primaris? Or are all Primaris sourced from Crawls lab? I ask because its going to effect my Army considerably. I had a backbone of scouts (it fit into my armies fluff). The chapter master is the one with the antennas, he will be fitted with a wrist mounted power sword when I find one I like. Rules wise he will have to count as a Normal marine captain with power weapon and jump pack as Primaris seem to be lacking options in the current release codex. According to the codex, a Primaris Marine still starts out as a Scout. So yes, you can have anything Scout related in an "all Primaris" chapter, technically. Also, camouflage is codex compliant. Look at the Raptors and Chapters that were involved in the Badab War. Camo was used. Now, in regards to the models: They look really, really good. It's actually rare to see camouflaged marines, so your army already has a +1 from me for that, especially since the camo is done very well. Yeah I was are there were other Chapters that utilised Camo, I remember seeing on in an old codex somewhere. I didn't think it was strictly Codex compliant though. Anyway heres a few of the "normal marines" that I think will be making it into the army, for one I love the sculpts and having a core of 1st company marines as standar veterans makes sense for the fluff of my chapter. They would be 1st company (veterans) and utilised as spec forces, hence the blacked out armour ect. I'm calling them Iron Hawks assuming its not clashing with another cannon chapter/big fan chapter (is there a database where people can check this stuff? if not then I have a website idea to work on next).
