Ishagu
So I've finally got my model assembled in hand. I wasn't sure at first, but upon close inspection this is the most impressive version of the character. He's actually on a Centurion base I believe, and he's not really that much smaller than Guilliman which is very cool. Can't wait to try him out in a game again soon. Captain Idaho
Pics or it didn't happen! On a serious note, I'd be interested to see him standing alongside Terminator Calgar (my favourite) and Guilliman for comparison. Captain Idaho
The old model is fairly dated to be fair. Looking forward to seeing your paint job. Always decent quality. Axineton
I just purchased one today. Should be here Wednesday, can't wait to get him assembled and painted up and on the gaming table ASAP. N1SB
This is but a sidenote, but I really like his helmet, it interfaces with his bionic eye well. It's like a beautiful retrofit. The breather also looks like an open mouth. Congrats on a great model, guys. Ishagu
I have mine without a helmet. It's more in keeping with the classic look. The two Honor Guard are really, really nice also. They would be incredible as a large unit, visually. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/#findComment-5242653 Share on other sites
Ishagu
So I've inspected the Honour Guard - the two models are indeed completely unique from each other aside from the similar pose. Initially I thought they were a mirror with a few details changed but each one is a different model entirely. Robbienw
How did you find the gaps on the back of the cloaks? I've seen people online saying they need filling where the shoulder parts meet the main cape. Ishagu
Absolutely fine. Just need to dry fit them before you start using glue and make sure any excess plastic is trimmed Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/#findComment-5243068 Share on other sites
RikuEru
How did you find the gaps on the back of the cloaks? I've seen people online saying they need filling where the shoulder parts meet the main cape. Minimal Liquid Greenstuff needed on mine. Yes, Ishagu, I want a large Squad of Sword&Board Primaris. Cloaks would make it even stylisher (tho would look repetitive after more than 10). But I don't know who you're talking about... I only know Marnar Coldhammer! https://i.imgur.com/Isb8Lco.jpg https://i.imgur.com/NwgBQl2.jpg And his Huginn & Muninn inspired Guards of the [Not yet named Relic or so!?] https://i.imgur.com/NDtIH6I.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/#findComment-5243547 Share on other sites

Captain Idaho
Ah that model is a blast from the past. What about Terminator Calgar? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/#findComment-5244440 Share on other sites
Robbienw
He is absolutely massive! I bet he is noticeably bigger than other Gravis armour marines. I suspect GW are intentionally making stand out major character models a bit upscaled compared to their normal infantry equivalents these days. See for example Trajann Valoris compared to other Custodes, and Ahriman compared to other Thousand Sons. Ishagu
Here's a pic of my Calgar. Incredible model. I had a commission artist help me as life is really getting in the way of my hobby (a really great guy I'd be thrilled to recommend), but I did touch up various details on the model myself to enhance it further. I'll get some comparisons with my Terminator Calgar either tonight or tomorrow :-) I'll say that he's noticeably bigger than a Primaris intercessor too, stands taller by a margin. Panzer
I bet he is noticeably bigger than other Gravis armour marines. I wouldn't necessarily bet on it. My kitbashed Captain Smash looks absolutely tiny beside my Gravis Captain but looks fine beside Plague Marines so it's not like he's actually tiny as I at first thought when comparing him to my Gravis Captain. ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/#findComment-5244528 Share on other sites

Captain Idaho
Yeah I'd like to see him next to: An Intercessor. Guilliman. Terminator Calgar. A poor Tactical Marine (for comparison) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/#findComment-5244616 Share on other sites
Robbienw
and an agressor or gravis captain, I reckon he is bigger Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/#findComment-5244620 Share on other sites
Ishagu
He's bigger than an Aggressor but the generic Gravis Captain is also massive in fairness. Ishagu
Here's a few comparisons. He's really chunky and these pics don't really do him justice. Also, forgive the horrible lighting in the pics... Captain Idaho
Cor the Terminator Calgar is still an imposing model, funnily enough. The Tactical Sergeant truly is dwarfed, but then the Terminator Calgar is still huge. Waking Dreamer
Sweet model and paint job Ishagu! Do you have one with him in comparison with Gulliman? I can only imagine seeing them both on the battlefield. The sight should be enough for the heretics to drop their weapons and repent!
