Subtleknife
He makes the tactical sgt's proportions look propper funky. I can't put primaris next to normal marines it just looks odd. Captain Idaho
Yeah it's a funny one. Classic Marines armies look great, new Primaris are very well made, but together they don't fit. Ishagu
I think the MKIV Marines actually look a bit more stunted than the regular MKVII. MKIII with helmets look brilliant. Ishagu
can't wait to read vigilus 2 where abaddon beats down primgar Lol you really think Calgar will be beaten down easily? I think Abaddon is stronger but not by much. I don't think Guilliman will get involved in this so it will be very interesting either way. Ascanius
Abaddon's a lot more powerful, let's not kid ourselves. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/page/2/#findComment-5247357 Share on other sites
Panzer
It's just Ishagu fangirling again, don't worry. ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/page/2/#findComment-5247401 Share on other sites

BLACK BLΠFLY
Ishagu I always appreciate your honest enthusiasm and zeal for our Chapter. Captain Idaho
Regarding how we see Ultramarines fluff at the moment... Ishagu is the Robb Stark to my Jon Snow. :d *** Anyone have any pics if Guilliman side by side with nu Calgar? I have a sinking feeling they're the same size... Panzer
I'd also still like to see a regular Gravis Captain side by side with Gravis Calgar. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/page/2/#findComment-5247595 Share on other sites
Ishagu
I'd post pics but I'm away at a tournament - One I've performed poorly in. Took AdMech and Knights as my army. Went 2,2 and 1. The standard of play was exceptional. The UK's Mike Porter - number 2 world ITC player was there, as well as a team USA ETC champion who beat me in the second round. The Throne of Skulls champion was there also. The highest level of play is not for the faint hearted. Not a single Guilliman list was at the event Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/page/2/#findComment-5247914 Share on other sites
Prot
There are very few Guilliman’s at LVO next week. I think it’s tougher for all Primarchs than ever. Would love to hear about your tournament experience over in the AdMech forum Ishagu. Captain Idaho
Wait until folk realise they can take 3 units of Centurions with Heavy Bolters and Hurricane Bolters for 1260pts alongside Guilliman... Though that is extreme, 2 units of 6 alongside him still give out 216 shots rerolling hits and wounds... that's going to hurt. Panzer
And then wait until they realise those Centurions will be even more efficient with the Imperial Fists specialist detachment from Vigilus 1. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/page/2/#findComment-5248367 Share on other sites
Captain Idaho
I'm not sure that's the case... Rerolling wounds is phenomenonal. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/page/2/#findComment-5248388 Share on other sites
BLACK BLΠFLY
Yeah Gman is the better buff. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/page/2/#findComment-5248516 Share on other sites
Panzer
Rerolling to-wound rolls is great. No doubt about that. However I do think being able to inflict Mortal wounds on 6s against Vehicles with such a volume of shots and getting free cover within 6" of the warlord if he didn't move is the better package overall. Less devastating against infantry but more devastating against vehicles and more durable. Anyway it's kinda offtopic. I didn't intend to actually argue about it lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/page/2/#findComment-5248520 Share on other sites
Captain Idaho
True it's a topic for elsewhere I'm sure. Still waiting on this Primaris Calgar compared to Primarch... Prot
Calgar is not as big. I've had mine side by side, but Calgar does seem bulkier, blockier whereas Guillman has a more aesthetic look to him. I think it really works because Calgar looks the part of a solid tank in the battlefield, with serious bulk where you could see Guilliman crashing through the lines with dad's sword wailing over head helicopter style whoopin' heretics. Captain Idaho
Yeah I think I know what you mean - Calgar is artificially (if you excuse the term) enlarged to be super whilst Guilliman is naturally that big. Still, not sure how I feel about a Primarch being less bulky. Panzer
Also Calgar is wearing an armour that's supposed to be more bulky than regular PA by design while Guilliman is wearing armour that only seems bulky because of the additional stuff that's keeping him alive which is only really on his torso area. ^^ Still waiting for a Calgar and regular Gravis Captain comparison. :teehee: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/page/2/#findComment-5248686 Share on other sites
Ishagu
Guilliman could downsize his armour now that he no longer needs it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353415-new-calgar-is-huge/page/2/#findComment-5248729 Share on other sites
