.Torch.
Evening all, I recently started a Custodes force in an effort to have an army that was easy to transport. But I am having some issues with case durability and army expansion. My 1500pts list fits nicely into a Feldherr Mini PLUS case with two 60mm foam trays. However, while I like the case, I have found it to be too 'squishy' for my liking and would like something a bit more sturdy. I travel a lot, and its essential that my models have a rugged case as pretty much all my games of 40k are spontaneous pick-up games with friends while I am visiting various parts of the country. Any advice on a replacement? I have a couple of Battlefoam cases, and I am a big fan of them, but I unsure of the size I would need for a small army like Custodes. Ideally it would be able to hold my codex and dice, as well as having room for a bit of expansion (I plan on venturing into the new FW beta rules a fair bit). Any ideas? .Torch. FelipeFlops
I don't own any but the Hard Cases over at https://uk.battlefoam.com/ could be good ones to look at? They have customisable trays as well. They do say that the made to order trays can take some time depending on how many orders they have and they do get pricey fast however. shanewatts
I use the citadel crusade case (like the medium size one) for my travel case. All the Custodes fit easily into the case, and the case is small enough to be a carry on for an airline. It might not be the best case in the world, but it has been more than good enough for me. necroscope
The bikes are kind of hard to transport, I'm guessing that's the issue? What I've finally starting doing is using the medium sized citadel case and standing the bikes upwards instead of sideways in it. Then I flip the second layer of foam upside down and kind of carefully lay it down over them making sure their lances/plumes fit in properly. So far that has worked well. Ishagu
I use KR multicase for everything from trays to bags and I've taken both small and large armies around with me, nothing has broken yet. masterstrider
I use KR multicase for everything from trays to bags and I've taken both small and large armies around with me, nothing has broken yet. Same. The KR stuff is perfect for holding everything. As for the foam insets; I used: D2H (Custodian Guard, Wardens), J2H (Jetbikes, Vexila) and J5H (Allarus) are the way to go for most things. Buy the Double Alluminium case and you're good to go. It's around $120 for the case with custom foam. Brilliant! .Torch.
Cheers for the responses on transport. I have a P.A.C.K 216 that I am rather fond of, so I may just buy some new foam for that. I can get a thinner tray to hold my books and I think a 2.5 inch large tray should hold all my Custodes. I'm pretty infantry heavy on my lists, and I only have one bike captain. I still like things to be as compact as possible as I loath having to carry huge bags around with me, but I think this might be my best option.
