Astartes Consul
I agree with the argument that you don't necessarily have to see Sigismund defeating names traitor champions up close to see him develop as a character and fulfil his role in the wider story. That being said, having him holding a breach in the walls and maybe wounding a Primarch I think would be very cool. Angel_of_Blood
Dorn didn't kill Alpharius, Sigismund did. Huh? Even wounding a primarch in a tactical way rather than a physical way would be pretty cool. Astartes Consul
That being said, having him holding a breach in the walls and maybe wounding a Primarch I think would be very cool. 300 style? Even wounding a primarch in a tactical way rather than a physical way would be pretty cool. Maybe not quite 300 style, but something like rallying the defenders of the Palace as the Iron Warriors force a breach in the walls. As the traitor's rush in, Sigismund leads the Templar Brethren in a desperate charge to hold them back. Cutting through the elite of the foe before him, he finds himself crossing blades with none other than the Lord of Iron himself, leading his Legion's best warriors into the breach in his desperation to be the first to tear into the Palace's inner sanctums. As the tide of battle pulls at them, Sigismund's blade cuts a deep wound in Perturabo's side, before the Traitor Primarch's bodyguards surge forward and force the Emperor's Champion to dsengage before he can press his advantage. Slaying all who stand before him, Sigismund realises his chance has gone as the Lord of Iron falls back - he could press forward, and perhaps reach Perturabo again, but he knows that to do so would leave the defenders of the breach leaderless. He is an Imperial Fist, above all other things, and he knows his duty... The canon has pretty much established that only another Primarch really stands a chance of killing a Primarch, so to have Sigismund wound one would be a comprehensive endorsement of his status as the greatest swordsman of the Legions without some boring, repetitive list of slain Chaos champions that the reader cares nothing about... Lord Marshal
I think anything short of personally crippling Horus and saving the Emperor would disappoint the Black Templar fandom. Marshal Rohr
I think anything short of personally crippling Horus and saving the Emperor would disappoint the Black Templar fandom. ‘And lo, from the dust of the Throneworld did Sigismund hurl his blade into orbit to be caught by the Angel Sanguinius, who thusly smote a rent in the Great Betrayer’s armor before expiring at his feet. Thusly wounded, the Emperor did slay Horus with mind bullets, because of the First Captain’s great feat.’ I’d be okay with it ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353472-how-will-bl-make-sigismunds-feats-epic-at-the-siege/page/3/#findComment-5246513 Share on other sites
Sete
I think anything short of personally crippling Horus and saving the Emperor would disappoint the Black Templar fandom.Crippling? My dude, Sigismund will erase Horus from existence. He will blast Horus so hard that Sons of Horus fans will faint upon reading the passage. He will single handed fight Mortarion, Fulgrim, whinnie the Pert, Angron, Lorgar and some other lowly traitor primarch, defeat them using just 10% of his power then teleport behind Horus and say "omae wa mou shindeiru" and blast him out of existence even before he can say "Nani?" b1soul
If Sig wounds a primarch, I don't want it to be one on one. Maybe he sets up an ambush or something like that. Frankly,it would be amazing if Sig manages to somehow parry a primarch's blow Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353472-how-will-bl-make-sigismunds-feats-epic-at-the-siege/page/3/#findComment-5247561 Share on other sites
lokkorex
Corswain already left his sword in the spine of Night Haunter, I'd be okay with maybe Siggy thrusting his blade into Perturabos knee before being backhanded back into his place. *insert obligatory "I took a sword to the knee once, now I'm stuck in the Eye of Terror" joke. Sete
Siggy does not need to go around wounding primarchs one on one or ambushing. Sigismund making ambushes? Keep murdering that caracther. He does not strike me as the type of person that ambushes his foes. Instead faces them head on. Having the Emperor Champion hiding in a corner to ambush someone, yeah... Should be the Emperor Ninja. He is supposed to be a symbol for the defenders, Black Armour contrasting to the yellow red and white of his troops. Let him face astartes and daemons, let the demigods face each other in their petty rivlary. helterskelter
I think sigiamund is going to be quantity more than quality, pure body count. He'll cut down line commanders in the time it takes to blink, he'll dismantle a front line near by himself, then he'll shank Khârn. b1soul
I don't think Sig realising he's outmatched against a primarch and setting up a trap would be out of character Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353472-how-will-bl-make-sigismunds-feats-epic-at-the-siege/page/3/#findComment-5247814 Share on other sites
