I am pretty miffed that Primaris were released before updated versions of Indomitus Terminators, scouts and a character kit (ie chaos lord) were released for Space Marines.

I want to try and get my hands on those new special release terminator models at some point.

Me too, its one of the things that really irritated me about the primaris release, it left the update to the marine line unfinished!  Standard bikes and a plastic techmarine should have been part of the update as well.

You won't be disappointed if you get the series 2 heroes terminators, they are superb minis :)

I'm happy that they are doing new things and not just releasing the same units over and over and over again.

To comment on the poll in this topic:

Breachers already exist from FW if you want them, and you can use them as Vets with combat shields in the game. That's all they are in 30k anyways.

Destroyers no longer exist post heresy.

Custom honour guard are very easy to convert.

The only thing I get behind are chapter unique units.

Neither did Reivers or Inceptors, so "existing as of M40" clearly is no longer a problem for GW anymore.

The purpose of this thread is what classic marine unit would you like to see.

Not why shouldn't we see these units listed in the poll 'cause reasons'.

I'd like classic marine destroyers :)

I'm more on point than all the posts about classic Marines in Primaris focused topics.

I'm simply saying that I don't want any more rehashes or re-releases, and if they must do something new it's better for it to be a chapter specific unit.

I’ve voted Breachers. I’d love to make use of the 2point storm shields like my DeathWatch are enjoying.

Breacher shields aren't storm shields. They are 5+ invuls at best.

You can literally make veterans with storm shields right now.

I would too. Be an interesting and logical development for Marines. In an extreme war the Imperium moves to an extreme sanction.

Open the vault and bring forth the forbidden weapons!

Is that based off 30K rules? Or because Combat Shields are 5++?

Because neither of those are particularly good reasons: Breacher Shields are clearly bigger (and presumably stronger) than Combat Shields, and they could either function like Storm Shields or like Ogryn Slabshields (+2 to Save). Hell, Storm Shields used to be a 4++ in melee only (back in 4th Ed, I think it was), so it's not like rules don't change...

It feels like you're going out of your way to specifically try and shut down any kind of new/redone Marines units just because of your personal preference for Primaris. Primaris are getting fully supported - that much is obvious - so why not let those of us who don't share your passion have our dreams?

Based off their rules in 30k.

They are actually a 6+ invul I believe, with 5+ in certain conditions. It's just a slab of metal.

I'm not trying to shut anything down. I simply don't want GW to waste a potential release wave on rehashes, and especially as some of the suggestions are possible right now through simple conversion and all bits being directly from GW or FW.

What you don’t want isn’t relevant to this thread though. It’s about what classic marine units you would like to see from the poll above. If you don’t want to see any of them there isn’t much you can contribute.

Also, GW still does plenty of redone units, even in this age of lots of new stuff. Its what happens as technology moves on and they can do iconic units with sharper details. Many of the recent Chaos Marine releases are straight up rehashes for example.

Chaos didn't have 4 separate generic Terminator kits.

I'm in support of chapter specific units and little else. All the other suggestions are redundant in my opinion. Whist you can say that's subjective from a modelling point of view, it's certainly more objective from a gaming one. You guys are free to convert to you heart's content.

Now they've got three and it stands to reason that EC and WE will bring in more terminators as well. It doesn't seem like a good excuse not to redo the kit.

Hey, if they redo the basic Terminator kits they can make it combo tactical/assault like it probably should have been to begin with! They could also release an iron hands upgrade sprue with a datasheet that let's IH use them as tactical sergeants.

It’s irrelevant how many terminator units chaos has. The new one is a rehash of the old one, this is a fact.

It’s irrelevant wether you think something is redundant or not. From a rules perspective it is irrelevant because rules can be changed radically every few years.

This thread is about what units people want to see made. We are free to say which classic units we want to see made to our hearts content :D

And loyalists have 9 distinct Terminator kits

The only way to replicate them is with Company Veterans or Wolf Guard. While those are somewhat reasonable options to include a similar unit, one is limited to a maximum of 15 models for the majority of Marine Codexes. Breachers, as the current example, aren't particularly simple to include in a significant amount, outside of Space Wolves.

Again, you might not care, but evidently others do.

I've been hoping that a reboot of the Heresy Range in plastic (per the rumors of resin production ending in 2022) will mean a return for lots of wild options in the 40k marine list as kits are produced to represent the model options. Like you can simply upgrade your tactical squad with boarding shields the way assault marines take combat shields.

New terminator sculpts.

I never considered how much I want more Terminators until now! Wish I put it on the original Poll.

I vote saturnine.

Why?

It was developed at the same time as indomitus and Tartarus, and is said to function similar to both.

So, improved protection, free movement.

Additionnally we haven't seen it in plastic.

I saw a really cool rendition of it (art wise) and would love to see it in plastic.

Additionally saturnine has a weapon systems mount on top, like I domitus, unlike indomitus, this supports alternative systems, heavy bolter, flamer, Las and such.

Meaning the ATMs can be used for SS and then combo.

I'll post the pic when I get to a computer
