vigitant
I'm currently toying with some ideas of running deathwatch with an inquisition detachment based around 2 Prometheus inquisition land raiders, likely with eisenhorn.the land raider means that a detachment that would otherwise give a net 0 CP(after spending for a DW relic), will effectively give 1 CP a turn until/unless the landraider dies. This helps with one of the inherent problems of inquisition.2 LR prometheus give 24 HB shots apiece, ignoring cover.Jokaero become an option, though without character rule the LR's are gonna have to LOS block for them. But rerolls on all those HB shots is pretty nice.Inquisitors arent bad, and Eisenhorn makes for a nasty 125 point surprise with his buffed daemonhost. For the DW, im tempted to run 2-3 drills with vets inside, to help normalize target profiles and pull in some potential AT. It'll get tight on points fast, but its super fluffy. Inquisitors rolling up with super expensive and rare vehicles Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353843-the-most-fluffy-of-allies-i/ Share on other sites
Mobius0288
I would venture a little differently personally but I like the theme. How has Eisenhorn performed? For a fluffy inquisition list I envision something like a Damocles Command Rhino with an inquisitor warlord inside (supreme command det maybe?). Then for big toys I would look at an Achillies Landraider and a Landriader Crusader. The Damocles gives me a CP every turn and a free orbital strike, while my other landriaders would wreck all kinds of threats. The Drills sound fun. I have yet to try them out. I was running an inquisition force in my super smashy wulfen list, and eisenhorn was hilarious. LD10 wulfen are awesome. Eisenhorn by himself isnt worth 100pts. Eisenhorn and his buffed daemon are absolutely worth 125pts. The drills are insanely powerful. they mesh a little better with admech, but the stats are just so amazing for their price. T8 murderbox at 130ish pts?? Its hard to build a bad list with them. Mobius0288
Was doing some quick research as this topic has my interested in getting one... -Terrax-Pattern Termite Assault Drills are for 40k. -Termite Assault Drills.... old data sheet? or for horus heresy? I only bring it up because Battlescribe has both listed in 40k for some reason. And back on topic to Inquisition as allies, I notice that if you include them, it really forces you to consider some kind of transport in order to protect some of your acolytes (first blood). Does that justify things like drop pods, and still be fairly efficient points wise? I've also seen someone include Hector Rex in a list and apparently he is a BEAST. 2 powers, deny 3 at only 100 points. Its the one that has the big text block on the weapon that looks suspiciously like the new vindicare mortal wound ability. https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/PDF/Downloads//warhammer_40000_termite_assault_drill_en.pdf Drop pods are still unequivocally garbage. But there are some interesting weird transports across a bunch of codexes and forgeworld stuff. You could even put your acolytes in the drill with DW veterans. If someone blows up the drill with your dudes inside, use the acolytes as cushions to absorb any damage. My smashy SW air-drop Wulfen list does this a lot. Emergency Acolyte Landing Cushions are better than losing 50pt wulfen to a single roll. Hector "Baby Draigo" Rex isnt bad at all. Trazyn's Poke-quisitor is pretty good, too. great deny at a much cheaper price point. Karamazov is bit pricier, but he's got decent stats and some neat tricks. And you gotta respect a guy so dedicated to his work he just travels perpetually on his own toilet, so he doesnt have to stop inquisiting heretics to go drop some daemons off at the Eye of Terror, if ya know what I mean.
