Genestealer cult and hair

Recommended Posts

It seems to be how the Genestealer taint expresses itself, bulbous head with no hair. But the genetics involved are super wacky, so I wouldn't say it's impossible with a parent species that has hair. Especially when you hit 4th Gen and they appear alost identical to the host species.

In tabletop terms, do it and just make sure it's clear what the unit is :)

the novel "Genestealer Cults" that came out around the time the 7th ed dex did states that all of them are bald, its a genestealer thing

ISTR that novels, etc. are officially "unreliable narrator". Can anyone confirm/deny?

Im sure 1st ed stated they are bald due to the nid dna, not sure if that fluff has been retconned.

In 1st ed the genestealer/tyranid connection wasn't established. That came in, IIRC, the Space Marine game. I *think* that was 2nd ed era.

The way I'm going to view it is that by the looks of it current and previous canon suggests that they are all bald,

HOWEVER

I don't see any issue with cultists in high authority potentially using cosmetic surgery/psychic projections/archeotech to disguise their true appearances.

Was supposed to say Stealer dna not Nid.

Advanced Space Crusade had Stealers in hiveships, so the connection was loosly there, just not 100% confirmed.

1st ed was an era of rapid fluff development. Genestealers were Tyranids before 2nd ed was released and firmly Tyranid in the 2nd ed box set books.
