Hoping this will be pre-order March 1st :)

Probably not realistic, but hey.

GODDAMMIT

I saw the red dot and thought "HELL YEAH. Someone already got his and writes new stuff!", but noooo.

DAMN

Dont worry i got the same feeling, hoping the blood angels stuff goes up on friday

  • 3 weeks later...

OKAY here we go, some info I've been privy to thus far:

NEW CONSULS:

  • Warmonger: under 50pts, Digital Lasers, Iron Halo - Grants himself and a unit Deep Strike
  • Mortificator: under 30pts, Servo-Arm, Corpsulent Stave (Haywire melee attacks  S:U+1 AP4) - you need to take a unit of 2-5 Legion/ Contemptor/ Cortus Dreads that this guy joins and is fearless while with them. Attacks always target the dreads. All the dreads may shoot at a different target. If one runs they all must. If two or more dreads target a single model in CC their attacks gain Shred & Sunder. Legiones Astartes rules do not confer. GLANCING & PENETRATING HITS ARE IGNORED ON A 5+ (not counted as a save).
  • Arrmistos: under 25pts, Hardened Armour, Auguary Scanner, MC Heavy-Bolter OR Volkite Culverin - Stubborn. Support Officer. One unit equipped with the same heavy weapon as him gains Master-Crafted on the weapons.
  • Primus Nullificator: under 50pts, Cataphractii armour, Aether-Shock Maul (S+2, AP4, Deflagurate), Hexagrammic Wards (re-roll invuln saves caused by Daemons) - Adamantium Will, Can be Mastery Level 1 but must generate from Sanctic, removes the 0-1 restriction on Nullificators and moves to non-compulsory troops.
  • Esoterist: under 20pts, may take force weapon. If no Terminator armour, may take psyk out grenades or archeotech pistol - Support Officer. Can take up to Mastery Level 2 but must generate from Malefic or Sanctic.

Units:

  • Legion Nullificators: Cataphractii, Aether Shock Maul, Combi-Bolters, Hexagrammic Wards. Can take fists instead. Sergeant has WS5 and 3A. Also any model can take a "Toxiferrum Flamer" yet I haven't been told the rules for this yet.

ENJOY!

Some more bits:

  • Lots of significant Custodes points increases (boo!)
  • Custodes/ Sisters of Silence/ Ordo Sinister/ Assassins all have their own army list but ways to blend together. Assassins is unconfirmed.
  • Blood Angels minor points increases to Assault Cannons and clarifications.
  • Deathfire rule on blade of perdition "clarified".
  • White Scars LA rules tweaked as are the RoW.

Liking all the new Consuls except for the Warmonger. Too generic a character that offers a highly specialised trait (DS) to all Legion armies free for grabs who had to come up with other tactics or strategies in the past. Feh.

Primus Nullificator & Esoterist work much as expected. Nice.

Oh you aren't wrong, my group chats are already calling it broken.

I hope you're all ready for Deep Striking:

  • Bikes
  • Myrmidons
  • Anything else ridiculous

Though actually I'd love to see an Army of Dark Compliance with a Warmonger deep-striking a unit of jacked-up Ogryns.

Had a talk with a friend from the 30k blood angel group.
I don't know if I would be allowed to post a link, but there is a discussion on reddit in the 30k section where you can find a google drive link with some pictures from the actual book

@Rabidbunneh : you'll be abble to find the pic I've been shown there

Someone on Fb is sharing pic of the book. There is a new kind of paragon blade that seems brutal !

+2 str, AP1, instant deat, 2 handed

I've seen a single Psykana and....

DIVINING BLADE - upgrade to a Paragon Blade for +30pts.

S+2, AP1 Melee, Two-Handed, Instant Death, Master-Crafted, Psy-Lash (if a wound is caused against a daemon, psyker, brotherhood of psykers or psychic pilot, one random model in the unit suffers a perils).

Fluff is excellent too, basically only a few in existence and Horus seemingly has them all - each gifted to a warrior of upmost importance.

I noticed that the Nullificators' Sergeant had the option to replace his volkite eggbeater with other weapons, and my brain stopped reading.

Like... you've got a volkite eggbeater. Possibly the weirdest and coolest new weapon added to the game. Sure, it's only AP 4 and STR User + 2, but it's a volkite eggbeater. You're just gonna toss it aside for a power weapon, power fist, or thunder hammer? Nah man. Not cool.

Any word on what those Nullificator flamers do?

Apparently:

  • Poison 3+, Tainted. Tainted is rending but also removes blessings from units it hits.

This can also be given to Destoryers and there is a S7 Shred version for Contemptors too.

Awesome! Thanks man! Looks like I've found a cool way to represent Destroyer Terminators!

Regarding the divining blade, wouldn't it make more sense that they were more "common" on the loyalist side, to represent Malcador/the Emperor handing the few available ones to trusted commanders to fight the daemonic attacks?

Apologies for the slight rant, but I felt a bit the same with the Leviathan. While I would never tell somebody what they should or should not have in its army, especially with something as cool as a giant siege dreadnought, when it was revealed the lore FW gave it (designed in Terra, late crusade) plus the hints that the Emperor might have suspected (or even instigated) a potential rebellion, I would have expected it to be more accessible to the loyalists, as the Emperor would have been very careful with granting access to them (then again, he probably wouldn't have suspected about Horus or Fulgrim).

To me, ot made sense that having "higher tech" or at least more variety of equipment would be a factor in favour of the Loyalists, whereas the Traitors would benefit from Chaos boons and daemonic reinforcements (plus Dark Mechanicum). Moreover, it would reflect a bit the old lore aspect of Chaos Space Marines not having all the equipment available to Imperials.

Again, I am not advocating that anyone should not get Leviathans or divining blades for its traitor armies, just a rambling thought of mine about how to distinguish a bit more the loyalists and traitors as the Heresy progresses. Anyways, I am looking forward to know more about all the new options for the legions, and all the modelling opportunities that will come with it!

There we go!

Finally, a way to just "NOPE" the Lorgar Buff-Star of Doom

I think the reasons for the Leviathan being developed on Terra (rather than Mars) was more related to the Emperors fears about potential mechanicum rebellion rather than astartes. I think the weapons support this fluff as well (siege claw, storm cannon).

Although, I can’t remeber where I read that I’m afraid!

Thousand Sons won't like that thing as well. ;)
