A question on the Urban Conquest map and transfers

Hey everyone.

 

Not sure where this question should really go, but here seems to fit the bill as best as any place in the forum. If I should be asking this somewhere else, please let me know.

 

In any case, I bought a box of Urban Conquest. I am an absolute fan of Cities of Death, and this kit seemed right up my alley. The thing is, the book inside the kit states that one should use the transfers that come with the box that serve to mark down territories, on the plastic of the Urban Conquest map, and then place them back on the transfer sheets after the campaign is over, in order to use them again.

 

... Has anyone tried this?

Do the transfer really hold up at this type of use? Or am I better served with finding an alternative way of marking down my map?

 

I'd hate to use the icons just for them to be damaged or spent by nature of the way they are used, after one campaign.
