Aerisson
I had a tournament this week-end and it was a ton of fun. It was a 1.7K tournament with some restrictions : 2 detachments max, each datasheet could be taken 2 times only, except for troops. There was 3 games, 2 on saturday and one on sunday. ETC missions with CA2018 deployment My list was : - DP w/ wings, Revoltingly Resilient, Suppurating Plate - Malignant Plaguecaster - 5 PM w/ 3 plasma - 5 PM w/ 3 plasma - 10 poxwalkers - Foetid Bloatdrone w/ spitter - Foetid Bloatdrone w/ spitter - 3 Myphytic Blighthauler - Foul Blightspawn - Foul Blightspawn - Plagueburst Crawler w/ spitter - Plagueburst Crawler w/ spitter 1st Game : Frontline assault deployment, Maelstrom : nb of card equal to nb of controlled objectives, Eternal : 1 VP for obective in your zone, 4 VP if in opponent deployment zone, 2 VP otherwise, scoring ta the end of the game My first game was against an Astra Militarum / Ultramarines list. Am: Pask, Tank commander, psyker and 3 guard unit w/ mortar. UM : smash captain (upgrade to chapter master), 3 scout moto, 2x 3 full dakka aggressors, lascan predator w/ Chronus, full dakka repulsor and 5 hellblasters. First game of the tournament, I'm in a good mood. Plus I'm not too impressed by his list. Not that much anti-tank weapon. My opponent did a mistake placing 4 objectives roughly in the middle of the table plus one in each deployment zone. I deploy first so unless he size the initiative, I'll go first. I deploy on my line and keep the poxwalker on my backyard objective. He deploys facing me with his guardsmen screening the tank. He fail to size the initiative so I go first. Turn one, the drone are advancing and roasting one unit of guardsmen. The rest of the army move forward, taking position on the mid-table objectives. One of the PBC go around a blocking scenery to flank his guardsmen. I keep the prince in my line for the reroll. During the shooting phase, besides the roasted guardsmen, I managed to take down the repulsor and 3 of the hellblaster. No charges this turn. During his turn, he moves two times a unit of guard in order to take one of the objectives. He manage to take down one drone and damage the other, but not that much. After that, my memories fade away but I clerly remember my DP taking down his captain, A foul blightspawn taking down a full life predator. He concedes at the end of my turn 3 as all he's left was Pask with 8 hp and his psyker and there was already 19+ vp difference between us. So I won this game 20-0. After eating, we had our 2nd game appairing and I was against a Thousand Sons list. Interesting match up. Magnus' sons against Mortarion's. Can my Disgustingly Resilient overcome his 18 psychic power per turn ? You'll see in the next episode. Prot
I really hope the ‘Thousand Sons’ list wasn’t a Magnus + Nurgle army. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353964-17k-tournament-death-guard-feed-back/#findComment-5262938 Share on other sites
Aerisson
Fortunately for me, it was not ! 2nd Game : Hammer and Anvil deployment, Maelstrom : nb of card equal to turn number, Eternal : obj 1-4 score 1 vp at the end of each turn The army I'm facing is a pure TS army : Ahriman, 2 terminator sorcerer, a DP and at least 3 other sorcerer (i've lot the count ...), on unit of 6 rubric marine, one unit of scarab termi and 2 blob of 30 tzaangors/ I must admit that when i saw the list I was a little afraid. I've never played this army but from what i know, it will be a pure math match : will he smite me to death or can i throw enough DR to stay alive. I have the initiative so I deploy my whole army first. Then he deploy his, far away from mine. On my first turn, i managed to wipe this rubric marine unit and most of his termi. On his first turn, he unexpectivly TP one blob of tzaangor in my backyard with his relic (did i tell you i didn't faced this army before ...). On his first psychic phase, he litteraly wipes my right flank with an critical Infernal Gateway plus some smite (one drone and one PM unit). But his Tzaangor missed their charge, fortunately for me. On my second turn, I wiped the rest of the termi, toasted a good chunk of the backyard tzaagors and start softening the other blob which is protecting all his char. I start scoring cause the 1-4 obectives are in the middle of the board. On his second turn, he did a little damage with his psy, wiping my second drone but his tzaangor blob misses a second charge (he kept them 9" away to avoid the PBC flamer overwatch). This wind are changing (see what i did here ? ) On the third and fourth turn, I finish the first blob of tzaangor, kill his DP w/ mine and managed to charge Ahriman w/ my MBH, leaving him at 1 hp. In return, he kills one of them, blowing it and thus, dying in the explosion. I tabled him on turn 5 and thus winning 20-0 a second time. It was the end of the first day. I was very happy with 2 victories. I came to this tournament for fun only but at the end of the day, with my 40 points, I'm in very good place and it's frankly a surprise for me ! The two other armies with 40 pts are T'au and there is another DG army à 37 pts. So my last game will be against either vs a very strong gunline, either a fratricidal game. I don't know which I prefer ! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/353964-17k-tournament-death-guard-feed-back/#findComment-5264118 Share on other sites
