roadkiller
Hey guys I have been contemplating on that topic for quite some time now. After some search here I have found out about the correct markings for Sergeants and Veterans with thie helmets and shoulders/arms (thank you guys a lot). There is just one thing i could not find out. What are the correct shoulder signs/markings/decals on the Sergeants', Lieutenants' and Champions' shoulders and the left knee? Race Bannon
Welcome to the Ravenspire!Sergeant shoulders and knees follow the rest of the squad. There are no "rules" for LTs and Champs that I have seen, so it may be more to personal taste.EDIT: Ok. So, here are my thoughts on Lieutenants and Champions: Lieutenants They are obviously veterans, so get the white arms. Because they are not a part of a squad, then naturally they would not follow the pattern of using the left knee pad to note their association. BUT they are a part of a company and here is where some customization can be used. Maybe they put the Company number on the knee pad instead? We know the Company number is in Roman numerals so that is a visual difference right there. I believe the shoulder pad would use the skull motif because he is a "command" dude. This would be customized to the individual (because that's the Raven Guard WayTM). Champions These guys are simply on another level, yet they are veterans as well so would get the white arms. To me, anything else goes and should have the greatest customization. I mean, there are only 13 dudes in the entire Chapter. Soooo, the only thing that really makes Company Champions stand apart from the Chapter Champion are the weapons they use. Yet, I would follow the knee pattern for LTs for Company Champions. The Chapter Champion should seriously be a stand out dude in the army. Jacques Corbin
Ok, so what if there are 2 lieutenants taken in a hq slot? Is one of them labeled "I" and the other "II"? Y'know instead of a squad? roadkiller
Thank you very much for your answer! This helps me a lot. Since command gets a skull I am thinking about taking the usual one from the decal sheet or using that raven skull, although it must be black then. So many problems :D. The first 2 primaris 5-man-squads are almost done and I hope i can take some nice pictures for you guys. ShinyRhino
My Lieutenants are getting raven skull icons on their pads, with the red iron halo above it (from the standard Lieutenant transfer off the DI sheet). I don't number squads or models anymore. It gets too confusing when you have so many different squads with the same numbers. First Tactical, first Devastators, first Assault, etc. Now I use knee pad icons, skull squad, lightning bilt squad, diamond squad, etc. My company champion has custom heraldry on his pads, because he's a specific individual in the company, like the captain he guards. Y'know instead of a squad? In my suggestion above, both LTs would/could use the Roman numeral on the knee and would be the same number as they are associated with the same Company. What makes them different from each other is whatever makes them individuals; maybe their armor is artificed differently, or weapons, or some other visual marking somewhere. On the table it could be as easy as, "this guy with a helmet is LT dude 1, that guy without a helmet is LT dude 2". ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/354028-raven-guard-lieutenant-and-sergeant-shoulder-markings/#findComment-5262285 Share on other sites
