Monster Slayer vs Heavenfall Blade - Which do you pick?

I normally run my Talonmaster with the Heavenfall Blade, but was wondering if the Monster Slayer is better or not.

 

Both weapons have very similar stat lines, so is it better to have +1 A or +1 to wound?

 

Which do you take, and what brought you to that decision?

+1 to wound makes it easier to wound higher toughness, so that is the direction I usually take.

Completely depends on who I'm giving it to for me.

On a Talonmaster (assuming I've gone the route of RW Attack Squadron Detachment), I'll go with The Monster Slayer, as the Talonmaster has the speed to capitalise on the +1 to wound and engage the right targets to make use of it.

For just about everything else, I'll go with the Heavenfall Blade, because +1A is more versatile.

I think it's moot neither can deal that well with heavy armour but the Monster slayer is marginally better at it, Heavenfall is definitely the better choice against infantry or elite based units just for the extra attack.

 

Pick the one you fancy based on your opponents army.

 

The beauty is you can tool up 2 Talon masters now :)

Making it easier to wound will always be more efficient then an extra attack in my opinion. Hopefully someone can provide some math hammer to help us make a better decision.

Monster slayer is slightly better against any target over T3 and thus the better choice.

 

Given how DA relics are not great, should probably take both.
