Dreadnought missile launcher

Hi,

 

I have been searching around but not come up with anything.

 

Has anyone got any good alternatives or kit bashed anything in the shape of a dreadnought missile launcher?

 

There is the forge world option or buy the standard dreadnought kit, but much prefer the price and aesthetics of the venerable which doesn't come standard with a missile launcher.

The missile pod from the AdMech Onager Dunecrawler is a bit blocky, and requires a little conversion to work (removing the AdMech cog on one side and covering the hole on the other), but it is the perfect size to use on a Dreadnought.

I used the assault cannon arm (without assault cannon) and

a ) a missile launcher from a sentinel

b ) the missile launcher tip from a tactical/dev squad (w/firing missile)

to build one (ven) dread ML arm each.

 

I glued the left over arm armour bit on the bottom of the assault cannon arm, so the bit sits on top when the arm is turned around and used on the other side of the dread.

 

And some milliput (yellow + grey) to fill the holes ofc.

 

 

edit: obviously, this will not be an option for you if you intend to use the assault cannon.

 

eidt2: just found some bitz in the bitz box - dreadnought close combat weapon arm shoulder and one of the old imperial guard hunter killer missiles (aka missile in a box). That combination would go together nicely too, but at the cost of a dreadnought close combat weapon arm.

I got one printed buy a guy with a resin printer. There is a file for a dreadnought rocket launcher on thingiverse.

Things you can do:

 

replace forearm section of power fist army with Valkyrie rocket pod.

 

Is a ML/Powerfist combo an option? That makes it easier, just use one of the right arms and stick some missile parts into the hole.

I started one using the extra armour plates that come in the venerable dread kit and a typhon missile launcher from the old DA ravenwing upgrade sprue. I did not finish it and it needed some more work to fill the gaps, but the basic idea is to create a "box" with the armour plates and stick the missile pod on one side. It would probably be easier to make the basic structure out of plasticard/cardboard and then put the armour plates as decoration.
