Dr_Ruminahui
I'm putting together a hellflayer chariot and a seeker chariot from the sprues in the Slaanesh "Start Collecting" box, and noticed that the hellflayer has each of the seekers with a whip (the seeker just has one whip). Now, I'm not a big fan of the dual whip, and am thinking of just giving one the alluress - but am worried whether that would result in an illegal or confusing model. So, the "weapons" description in the chariots datasheets (the bit above the weapon profiles, where for example it would say how many bolters and special weapons a squad could take) is very confusing - for melee attacks, my read is that you ignore the "weapons" part of the datasheet and just follow the instructions in the weapons profiles. For whips, though, it is unclear whether the profile is per whip in the weapon description, is for all whips that might be on the model. It doesn't help that the specific name for the whips (which I don't at this moment recall, my book being at home) is plural even in the weapon description (so, it says essentially that each seeker on the hellflayer has whips. So, can I make 1 or 2 uses of the whips profile for a hellflayer in the shooting phase (so, 1D6 or 2D6 attacks). My gut feeling is one, in which case it would be okay to only put one on the model - however, if it is 2, only putting one of the model might be confusing for an opponent. Anyway, your thoughts would be appreciated. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/354137-hellflayer-chariot-how-many-whips/ Share on other sites
Panzer
It's pretty clear to me. It's drawn by two Steeds of Slaanesh and each Steed of Slanesh is ridden by Seekers which are equipped with one lash of torment each. Aka 2 lashes in total. Giving only one to your Exalted Alluress wouldn't make the model illegal though. WYSIWYG is not a rule, it's a suggestion. A gentlemans agreement. Only on some tournaments it's a rule and even there the model would usually be fine as it doesn't have any loadout options that would allow it to have only one lash of torment (also it's not exactly a game changing weapon anyway). Confusing it might be, but you could easily explain it away by the Exalted Alluress being not just mere Seeker so she has more attacks with it. Could even give the lash of torment some additional spikes to make it look more deadly.
