Castellan help!

Soooo yea I’m gonna pull the trigger on a Castellan. But I’m torn with how I’m going to run it....

 

Option 1 house raven for order of companions, ion aegis, Cawls wrath. Pretty much the “standard competitive Castellan”

 

But option 2 caught my eye

House Krast, headmans mask, first knight

 

I wanna be different so option two seems cool! Always rerolling ones is freaking awesome! And headmans mask makes this bad boy one hell of a knight killer doing an extra two damage against titanic models...

 

The one thing that is making me lean option one is the improved invulnerable save.

 

What are your thoughts?

Raven Castellan with Order of Companions will outperform the Krast version any day of the week. Of course, if the command points are not there, then the Krast loadout does perform marginally better against monsters/vehicles and more so titanic units. But only against those. And since it would seem you haven't tried the Castellan, if you are not going to play competitively, either don't bring it, or tone it down a lot (no ion bulwark, no cawl's wrath, no order of companions). Thing is, it usually doesn't need help killing another knight or vehicle, unless it's shooting at another Castellan/Valiant with Ion Bulwark and Rotate Ion Shields, so the Headmans Mark is sort of wasted anyways, and Order of Companions is a lot better than that and First Knight combined, because the Castellan has a lot of guns with random number of shots and damage. The Knight Crusader with Ironstorm missile pod, rapidfire battlecannon is a more popular choice for First Knight and Headsmans Mark because it's more inclined to get into combat and riverdance on it's opponents.
