Wassa
So rerolls occur before modifiers. But a lot of reroll abilities say "you may" or "you can" reroll failed hit rolls. For example, the "Aerial Spotters" strategem says that "you can reroll failed hit rolls". Does that we HAVE to reroll failed hits? For example, we hit on 4+, but we have a +1 modifier. Can we choose not to reroll a 3, which will later be modified into a 4? The Cadian doctrine with Take Aim says "re-roll all failed hit rolls for that unit", I assume that means we HAVE to reroll 3s that are currently misses, but would be actual hits with the later modifier? MARK0SIAN
Yeah, if it says you may/can then it is optional which (if any) you reroll. If it’s phrased as an instruction like the Cadian one then you have to do it. It’s similar to Cawl’s reroll ability. He can reroll hit rolls, not failed hit rolls, any hit rolls so you can reroll the ones that would otherwise not be allowed because of the modifiers rule.
