Shockmaster
Hi guys, been pondering starting a Space Marines army for a while as a new side project, considered lots of chapters but think I have finally settled on Crimson Fists, as like a lot of players I have a soft spot for that classic rulebook cover art depicting their heroic last stand. To get to the point, what do you think of Spartan themed Crimson Fists, I know that is more of a Minotaurs thing but I thought as a fun reference to the movie 300, it could fit the original poster boys well? CCE1981
Personnally I love DIY chapters and heavily encourage others to do so as well. You could make your own Crimson Fists inspired Chapter with the 300 themed Spartan look. It should look pretty awesome no matter how you do it! Shockmaster
That is a good idea, I never really think of DIY chapters just because there are so many official chapters that seem to have every colour scheme covered, I will give that some thought. CCE1981
Looking at some Spartan images online. A suggestion is to make the soft seals, upper arms and upper legs bright red. Greaves, forarms and helmet bronze. The chest peace I would make into different colors for battle field role, bronze - command, white - line troops, etc. During Greek times the richer you were the better armor you vould afford. Helmet, greaves, bracers and sheild were equipment you didn’t skimp on. The chest would be bronze for rich, or layers of linen for poor, or lacquered for middle class. All of which was still very good at protection while the bronze was the best.
