Johanhgg
Im mostly in to primaris now, but i have tons of little brothers laying in various boxes and such. My wife recently realized how MANY models ive tried to hide away. I had a lot of explaining to do. The result of that conversation was that no more models is to be bought before i paint the 100+ old marines. Ok. These marines will be the Scythes of the Emperor. I imagine the time for the chapter is before getting reinforced by primaris. Heavily dwindling in numbers and currently engaged in hit and run-attacks/salvation-missions against various hivefleets. These activities is reflected on the miniatures as well as Army-choices. A small core of troop-choices and several sternguard/tyrannic war veterans to begin with. The bases reflects boarding-action in a stealer-infested space hulk. Yes im fascinated by chapters in the struggle. And those hit and run-salvation missions inside Hive-Ships to gather lost geneseed and equipment from brothers gone is a crazy and brave thing to do. Johanhgg
How are you doing the weathering ? Hey man! Its i mixture of teqnicues. The back is done first with regular basecoat, shading, highligthing etc. - then lightly sponge dawnstone, rhinox hide and leadbelcher to get worn effect. - A Vallejo mud-wash in some recesses is applied - lastly typhon corrosion at the feet/lower legs. - transfers is sponge with black if they are placed in the black armour, averland sunset if they’re placed on yellow parts of the armour Weathering Yellow is done by -multiple layers of seraphim sepia in recesses, - lightly sponging Uriel yellow to achieve highlights of next step which is sponging rhinox hide -carefully paint leadbelcher in some of the bigger splotches of rhinox hide letting some of the brown show. - some models have splashes of blood for the blood for the blood god Typhus corrosion is sponged on weapon and maybe hands/elbows. All metal is washed with Devlan mud. I hope I gave you some ideas!
