Kilofix
Anyone know which book I might find a phrase that went something along the lines of “the most dangerous of governments - democracy”. Or something to that effect? I remember reading it and it’s bothering me that I now can’t remember which book it was from. Thanks. rendingon1+
I think it was in Fulgrim (this human-xeno alience that IH fought with little success) or some early HH novel. I remember it too, though democracy was described as "abomination". No, not Fulgrim unless I have some new PC edited version lol. Tymell
I don't know which book it was, but I can narrow the search a tad: I just did a quick ctrl-f search, and it's not from any of the first 18 HH books :p (I don't remember it from the series as a whole. My memory is far from perfect, but I'd hazard that it's probably not from HH). Kilofix
Maybe it was indeed referred to as an abomination, I’m not sure. I just remember it was something about democracy being terrible. It’s driving me nuts that I can’t remember which book it was. Sigh.... Brother Tyler
It wasn't in a Black Library book. It was in one of the Forge World/Imperial Armour Badab War books. (The section on the selected battle honours of the Raptors Chapter, page 100) ...As well as contesting the domination of the infamous blood-god worshipping drift pirates of the [Fourth] Quadrant's Storm Marches region, in a three year campaign in confederation with elite squadrons of Battlefleet Solar, the Raptors fell to the task of toppling the traitors of the Sulsalid Sub-sector. As the wider [Fourth Quadrant] rebellion had raged, the powers and principalities of Sulsalid had cast off their tithe lords and cardinals in favour of the twin-abominations of 'progress' and 'democracy.' Given time the Imperium knew such seditious corruption could quickly spread, and the Adeptus Terra tasked the Raptors to stamp out the heresy as swiftly as possible... Quantum
A very similar phrase is used in the Necromunda:Underhive rulebook to describe the government of the hive city called Gothrul's Needle. Kilofix
Ahh thanks Tyler and Collider! I was thinking of the Necromunda rulebook and Rendingon was thinking of Badab. Mental anguish crisis averted.
