Now that we all need one of each assassin, I thought I'd create a thread so we could share our efforts. These are mine, which I've painted for a tournament this coming weekend. I'd be interested in any comments, and pictures of other people's assassins - if  you can catch them.

I'm calling these done, though I'll add a bit of mud to their bases at some point before the weekend, when my other guys are ready for it.

For the Eversor I've done a pretty standard colour scheme.

The Culexus is kind of understated, apart from is ridiculously overstated hat. A pretty easy paint job and nothing fancy to do for the model. I'd actually painted this guy already so he's more or less good to go. I wonder if I should add some more colour somewhere, though for a Pariah the monochrome seems appropriate. Things like his grenades could work as spot colours I suppose. Any other suggestions welcome.

For the Vindicare I wanted him to look like he was actually difficult to see. I don't really think a sniper would go around in a white mask with red pouches, silver jewelry and things, so instead I've gone for a matte black effect all over. Basically a lot of drybrushing followed by a several layers of black ink. Not sure the effect is that much better than just spraying him black!

I'm very pleased with the Callidus, mainly because she's an ancient metal mini that I found in my bits box, who has come out pretty nicely for zero cost. I already had the hero base. At first I struggled to find a way for her to fit on it, till I had the brainwave that she could be made to look like she'd just cut through the girder as she ran by. I'm not a huge fan of the current model so this one has been a bit of a win all round. Posting the pic has reminded me to paint that cable on the girder though.

Anyway those are mine, let's see yours!

Thanks guys. I did the Callidus sword red to match the cut in the girder, but I think I agree it should be green instead. I’ll revisit that and have a look at adding something to the Culexus topic I have time.

Are you going to be at the GT finals this weekend antique nova?

I like how your Assassins came out. I've got a Culexus myself and I've got a Vindicare that (should be) showing up soon. I'd been drawing a blank (har har) on how to go about painting the Culexus, and your scheme is actually pretty good.

Though, for some reason, I'm thinking of doing a Druichii Violet shade on mine to give it a more unusual palette. I'll post the model here when that's done

Thanks for posting your assassins IronKobra. They are fantastic!

Thanks. I look forward to seeing your Culexus.

I thought about adding some more colour to mine. The trouble is, to me I felt like he ought to have kind of a black-hole-like thing of sucking in light and warmth, not radiating it. But that isn't necessarily the most interesting thing to look at. It's difficult to make the point that I haven't just sprayed the guy black and given up.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing that, but then I had an idea:

What if I do all of that, making him a very dark grey model with the silvered Animus Speculum, and then do a shade of Druichii Violet to make him seem 'otherwordly' in a sense?
