lionofjudah
Ok friends of Heresy, my solar auxilia army dreams have come true and I have a ridonkulous amount of options when it comes to putting an army on the table. I currently have 2 battlecannon malcadors and a single lascannons carnodon and I’m looking for your input on the survivability/damage output ROI on each. I’ve contemplated the great Audemus’ luck with the annihilador/incinerator combo yet I don’t want to buy any new models and feel like I have an amazing opportunity to school some folks with my baller army and tactics ;) So, army list is looking like this- 2.5k- Lord with medic and elite volkites in an Arvus with flareshield and lascannons for dropping in and vaporizing HQ 2nd/3rd turn(fingers crossed;) Command squad with grenade launcher dudes chilling and calling in that orbital strike goodness from behind the aegis with a bunch of homies Rest of the medics with needle pistols- 1 with the hq unit and 1 with the rotor guys 3 tercios of dudes- 1st is 2 lasrifle squads and a flamer squad with dracs, 2nd is lasrifle squad and aegis and ammo dump, 3rd is Veletaris with rotor cannons(this is only unit left to buy/build- luckily I’d bought rotor cannons a long time ago with this idea in mind- again- hands raised to audemus for lighting the way;) Heavy options abound- hence the desire for FB- I have 2 malcadors, 2 valdor/ 2 infernus and a carnodon. I plan on running 1 infernus with chem and armored ceramite and filling the other slots with either malcadors or a carnodon squad and another infernus. The idea of a triple triple las running unit is so tasty but I’ve not really come across anyone as excited about carnodons without volkites as I am. I’d love to hear your experiences and I feel like the mathability of so much las, especially if it chills within 6” of command squad could nope lots of armor while looking really cool (I personally think the carnodon is a top shelf mini;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/354685-malcadors-or-carnodon/ Share on other sites

Noserenda
Yeah i wouldnt touch Malcadors with a 10ft pole right now :( Lascannons are always a solid if uninspiring choice, S9 is always useful against most targets :) Havent used the big Volkites though. Tbh though i think Carnodons are a solid tank in the rules, people just arent too rushed to buy expensive Predators IRL :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/354685-malcadors-or-carnodon/#findComment-5280835 Share on other sites
