Help with Noctilith Crown counts-as

Hey all,

Big fan of Noctilith Crown but the look doesn't fit with my TS army very well.

I have some ideas but wanted to share this picture because I want to use this in some way to represent the Noctilith Crown. My first thought was a floating island with some marble tile, ripped from either the Black Library, Planet of the Sorcerers knowledge store or manifested from Ahriman's mind and onto the battlefield as he communes with his cabal to augment their powers.

The best part is that as long as it it sized appropriately none of my opponents at the local shop will much care since I'm putting time into it.

Let me know if you have some ideas for using these things! It was super fun to dress them up- kind of like organizing your shelves in Skyrim. ;)

Thanks!

From left to right:

- Stack the globe on top of the treasure chest to create a point of interest.

- Turn one of the bookshelves on it's side to create a base. Guessing, but that should stand about 2/3rds the height of a CSM.

- Put the globe and treasure chest on top of the overturned shelves.

- Cut the sides off the other set of bookshelves at the top and the bottom. Cut the sides into 3 pieces each and form them into a semi-circular shape. Leave room for a small area at the bottom where the ring will eventually mount to the overturned bookshelf. The ring should be approximately 2.6 inches in height.

- Remove the interior walls from the bookshelf. Position them atop the pieces cut in the last step so that they act as connectors between the pieces. Just to be clear, you are creating a ring that also acts as a bookshelf for your scholarly warriors.

- Glue the ring, mount the ring, let it dry.

- Remove the drawers from the end tables. Cut the individual blocks off the front. Attach them to the ring as decoration between the elements.

- Remove the tops from the end tables and cut the walls off the sides. Use them to create 'feet' that sit below the overturned shelves.

- Mount the feet to the model. Attach the books from the end tables around the feed to create visual interest.

- Split the altar at an irregular angle and mount it to the model to create visual interest.

- Glue the whole thing to a base. Mount the icon from the end tables somewhere on the model, preferably near the globe.

- If necessary, throw this away and buy the real model.

I think this is a pretty cool idea to get some army themed terrain!

Perhaps adding some floating magic stuff above to give it the height of the crown might help?  The floating chunks of warpstone from the AOS skaven endless spells could be cool floating above it.  Maybe add some wire and green stuff to build a halo of warp energy to represent the main body of the crown?

You could maybe model the "portal to another realm" as a secret passage hidden between the bookshelves.

edit:

I'd maybe move the large book shelves to the sides, so the shelves look like this: 0oo0

Or stack the small shelves in the middle: 080

Or like a door or portal or similar opening:
