Howdy all- looking to build a solid hitting 1500 Solar Auxilia armored list to take to a painting workshop in a few weeks.

Going to hang out for the weekend at a Cult of Paint workshop and paint on some marines and hope to have my SA army tabletop ready by then.

Let me know your thoughts on this 1500 on the dot list

HQ—110

tactical command squad, 5 vets and 2 vets rocking grenade launchers-

(bringing these guys as force multipliers and orbital bombarders)

**these dudes are hanging in the aegis with 2 lasrifle sections

Elites—95

Medicae section-3 needle pistols-

Troops—

1 tercio- 2 lasrifle sections with dracosans armed with two linked lascannons. Move forward to objectives with my heavy support and shoot stuff.

2 tercio- 2 lasrifle sections with command squad and ammo dump. Secure the rear objectives and shoot stuff

Heavy-410

Malcadors infernus with chemical ammo and heavy flamers

Carnodon with Lascannon sponsons and twin linked lascannons

So this list is 1475 and I have 25 points o play with... I’ve thought about dropping 1 vet from the command squad and throwing armored ceramite and an aux drive on the infernus.

Thoughts

Dracosans with lascannons always feel like a waste to me. Lasrifle Sections usually do better as far away as possible where their range and numbers can pick off Astartes without the risk of being torn apart by rapid-fire bolters and/or a lucky charge. Coupled with the afore mentioned lascannon requirement on 11+ Dracosans I'd consider a couple of Storm Sections instead (with Choom) and putting them inside the Dracosans with Demolisher Cannons. As per their name, they tend to do better at aggressively seizing objectives than blobs of Lasrifles, especially when supported by those demolisher cannons. Choom, choom, boom, boom.

One Carnodon isn't going to do much, but if you're going to add more as you increase in points then why not.
