To base a defiler or not

Recommended Posts

I'm debating basing my Defiler as well. The only base I've found that even remotely fits it is the 170mm Oval I have for my unfinished Knight. I haven't pulled the trigger and done it yet though. I just cant decide if I should base it or not. I'll be following this thread though, and see what others say

One of the great things about the defiler kit is that the legs can be popped into the joints without glue, giving full poseability and making the defiler easier to transport w/legs removed). One of the not so great things about the joints is that they tend to wear out relatively fast.

TL;DR: you'll have to glue or pin the legs eventually.

If poseability and transport are not a concern, basing is a good idea to give the model some stability.

Given the size, options for basing are pretty much limited to the knight base, or maybe whatever the onager is based on (120mm round?).

The legs kept falling off mine even when glued, basing it would be a good idea for sure.
