sarabando
As the title says, i am thinking of getting a defiler a mini that ive wanted since it was released but have never got around to. now most pictures show them with out bases. Has any one based theirs? if so what size base would you use? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/354984-to-base-a-defiler-or-not/ Share on other sites
Gederas
Not a Defiler, but I'm planning on basing my Soul Grinder. I had to use a Knight sized base (170mm Oval) just due to the shape of the legs. CMDR_Welles
I'm debating basing my Defiler as well. The only base I've found that even remotely fits it is the 170mm Oval I have for my unfinished Knight. I haven't pulled the trigger and done it yet though. I just cant decide if I should base it or not. I'll be following this thread though, and see what others say Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/354984-to-base-a-defiler-or-not/#findComment-5289529 Share on other sites
Exilyth
One of the great things about the defiler kit is that the legs can be popped into the joints without glue, giving full poseability and making the defiler easier to transport w/legs removed). One of the not so great things about the joints is that they tend to wear out relatively fast. TL;DR: you'll have to glue or pin the legs eventually. If poseability and transport are not a concern, basing is a good idea to give the model some stability. Given the size, options for basing are pretty much limited to the knight base, or maybe whatever the onager is based on (120mm round?). shandwen
The onager base might be a bit too small. For reference it is the same size as a CD. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/354984-to-base-a-defiler-or-not/#findComment-5289631 Share on other sites

Jukkiz
Make base or glue AND pin the legs/claws, just in case. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/354984-to-base-a-defiler-or-not/#findComment-5290172 Share on other sites
