This was possibly the worst model I've ever done, for the price you'd think they'd have some type of quality control. The instructions were subpar, gaps everywhere and everything was nearly warped

Got there in the end though, happy how it looks :)

If model ship companies can do 50" one piece hulls in plastic, it's time GW did away with Resin.

I think you kinda missed the point on why large special models and other specialist models are done in resin. You'll prolly get your wish though with the 30k reboot and things like necromunda it seems like they are shifting to plastic more and more but I doubt the big ass made to order resin models will get new kits for a long long time. My best peice of advice working with resin is invest in an electric kettle to deal with the warpage. Side note those big ass ship kits come pretty warped too but it's alot harder to deal with and the plastic is alot cheaper and harder. Iv'e helped my dad build a few of those and I'll take a large resin kit over it any day.

No, I understand why, metal injection molds are a BIG investment vs a Resin moud. I've had both Spartans and Assault Rams from GW, and the problems I had with them mean I'm never going to bother with big resin models again. Even if I could afford the $2,000 for a Stormbird, the effort required just to get the pieces straight and aligned guarantee's I'll never get one.

Thankfully it looks like a plastic Spartan is on the way, and with the AI T-Hawk model done, a scale seems a matter of time now

But I digress.

Awesome work on sorting out that hot mess Valrak, and kudos too you for sticking it out to get such a fantastic end result :tu:

As a long time viewer of your stream. Just realized I was not a follower. That has been rectified though. But love this post. Just stubble on this and thought “hay, I recognize this models” lol. I would love to join the The Last Wall Protocol. I am a big fan of the Crimson Fist, Soul Drinkers, and Howling Griffons. Just wanted to say that I love your work.
