Forging distinct Chosen

Recommended Posts

I would also love for Abaddon to make them troops. Give me my 40k Varanguard.

I would have liked the Black Legion to be able to use Chosen and/or Terminators as troops like they did in 7th.

It would have been fluffy and would have helped differentiate the Black Legion instead of being generic undivided legion.

All the volkites stopped working due to the corrupting influence of the Chaos design team.

Ahem, the Terrax-Pattern drill would like to have a word with you.

FW is a different design team though.

It's also a Horus Heresy unit that they decided to port to 40K (and finally give a transport option to AdMech).

IIRC, the only model made specifically for 40K and carrying a Volkite is the Tech-priest Dominus.

Storm shield and thunder hammers. Or great two handed power weapons.

I don't see chosen as bodyguards but as line breakers and head hunters.

I like this conception better. Bodyguards are meh. Chaos space marines are hell-borne barbarian mutants. Let them act like it!!

I think bodyguard should be one configuration. Headhunters, eh? Literally allow them to be kitted out akin to the Alpha Legion Headhunters of 30K (Seekers) would be cool too.

I wasn't suggesting Headhunters as in the alpha legion Unit. Rather a 40k concept of the fantasy warriors of chaos with great weapons.

I see these guys as literal hunters of heads, claiming the heads of champion and commanders, Breaking the elite units of other armies.

What would I like to see from Chosen? A complete rewrite; making them the Chaos Lord's chosen champions.

Abaddon's Chosen are what I picture – a group of very different, hand-picked warriors who each have some exceptionalism or specialism that benefits the Lord.

I'd like to see Chosen become something akin to Imperial Space Marine Lieutenants; a group with minor-character-level stats and wargear options that are bought as one unit, but with the option to deploy and operate separately (akin to the Greater Possessed).

That way your Chosen could really be your leader's 'inner circle'; allowing you to customise them into a bodyguard, elite squad, or individual personalities as you wish.

Huh. Almost sounds like an Inquistorial Retinue, but with chaos marines instead of lazer-weilding monkeys.

I really like this idea.
