What photo upload service is everyone using? PLEASE HELP

Greetings Brothers,

 

I have been a long time member, and was once active almost daily, but I took a hiatus from the hobby during the 6th and 7th years as I simply couldn't stand what my tabletop and GW had become. I used to use photobucket and Google Drive to upload all of my photos, but upon my return to the B&C yesterday, I discovered B&C inexplicably no longer allows uploads from said sources. So, to upload the photos I have currently, I had to load them into my own B&C private media library that has very limited space. In turn, the photos I posted appear as tiny thumbnails, and visitors to the site have to click on them to enlarge said photos. In some cases, that's not even working.

 

Long story short, what upload service/website are you all using? I would prefer a free one if possible.

It's not that the B&C doesn't allow uploads from Photobucket and Google Drive. Rather, those image hosting services have implemented controls on sharing images.

 

I just use the free B&C galleries for hosting the images that I post here.

I use the B&C as well. I think the only thing restricted is the largest size of the file uploaded (and some extensions) - I have quite a few photos in multiple different folders in the Gallery and it works fine.

 

As far as posting larger photos - I usually go to “Options” -> “View all sizes” -> click the size you want to post (I usually go with Medium) -> click the image -> copy the address of the image -> post that url surrounded by img and /img in brackets.

So Google and Photobucket are okay with me sharing images on social media, other forums, and pretty much everywhere else except for the B&C? Forgive me, but that does not make sense.

 

The error message I receives is: "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community."

I used Imgur, and it fixed my issues thank you all for your input, and those of you that recommended imgur.

FWIW I upload the photos automagically from my phone to google photos, so I can view them together, pick the best one and do some minor edits (cropping, fixing contrast etc).

 

Then I use this chrome extension to get a direct link to the edited photo at full res. This is then trivial to paste the URL into imgur to copy over for public hosting, and I have the bbcode right there to add it to a post on bolterandchainsword. It's a little convoluted, but I prefer to keep my general photos in albums etc on google photos for simplicity, and the handy editing tools, so it's a matter of seconds to slap a final model photo into imgur for public sharing. I could of course upload the photo direct to b&c, but I can also share the imgur photo on twitter etc and I find the built in forum photo management kinda frustrating.

I use Tinypic.com, basically exactly the same as photobucket without the linking issues and completely free.
