Sons Questions

Recommended Posts

Hey all! Been working on my army for a bit, had a few questions;

1- Is the Mutalith worth taking? Or should I take a generic Daemon Engine instead?

2- Should I equip my remaining squad of Rubrics with Warpflamers, or Inferno Bolters? I have one squad with lots of Bolters already, but I wasn't sure whether Warpflamers were worth it.

3- Dark Hereticus or Discipline of Change for my three Exalted Sorcerers?

Thanks!

1) competitively speaking, no. He is big, expensive and doesn't bring enough to the table. Being he can get focused down, bring two and that's a lot of your army.

2) When i run Rubrics it's usually a couple 5-man squads all with bolters. I do have a few warpflamers kicking around but I wouldn't dedicate a whole squad to it. Maybe one or two a squad/box of models. The icon is absolute garbage and I never take it.

3) Situation dictates. Pick your powers based on your opponent and your overall strategy.

Taking a page from the Dallas GT i plan on trying some msu rubrics, with a warpflame pistol on AS with infernos on the other 4. I like the idea of attrition in cc with smite, pistol and staff.

I do have a dedicated unit of 4 man with warpflamers for some wildcard fun. Joy riding in a rhino for a turn or denial. Good to have a few for flexibility if you have a healthy amount of bolters all ready

The guy who ran 35 rubrics at the Dallas GT also had Tzaangors and mostly his his Rubrics out of LOS to deny targetting on his characters.

Thanks Raven, I did heard him say that on the podcast.

I also heard him say he did not try to disengage from cc but instead used the strategy above when he was engaged which was my point and should have clarified. Rubrics seem hard to shift so camping out of LOS on objectives was what I meant, ready to be charged if that happens.

I only have 40 tzangoors but plan on throwing in spawn as well.

I am not recreating his list, just cherry picking ideas for my non competitive meta.
