Urauloth
I really liked this colour, and I've run out of it. Does anyone know of a good replacement for it from another range, or a suitable mix for making your own match? I assume it can be reasonably duplicated by adding a brown of some sort to one of the darker steel colours out there, but I don't know which ones to start experimenting with and it'd be really helpful if there's someone out there who already has this knowlege. Imren
I presume Vallejo model air steel doesn't have the same warm hue as FW iron hands steel. Check out the following ones: P3 radiant platinum, its a silver colour with a khaki-ish hue to it. Similar to (or perhaps same) as FW iron hands steel. Tamiya titanium silver, seems like a very close match on the pictures online. Check it out. Guest
Did you try the Vallejo Metal Color (different than model and game color lines)line, they have a great color range of silver/steel colors. Edit: In case you need examples there is some on our forum http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346964-vallejo-metal-color-range/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/355805-replacing-fw-iron-hands-steel/#findComment-5309405 Share on other sites
Urauloth
Good suggestions, thanks! The Tamiya titanium silver is a very good match. I'll check out the P3 colour as well, that looks like it might have a wide range of uses.
