Raven Guard Strategems Idea.

Springing off from my idea that all the Chapters should get an Index Astartes article in White Dwarf to flesh them out a little more I came up with a couple Strategems to that end, and figured I'd share them to see what you guys think.

 

DECAPITATION STRIKE 1CP

 

Pick a Raven Guard unit. Until the end of your turn they get +1 to wound on any attacks that target a unit with the CHARACTER keyword.

 

STRIKE FROM THE SKIES 2CP

 

Choose a Raven Guard unit that arrived via Deep Strike Reserve this turn. When it charges roll 3d6 instead of 2d6.

 

I figured both of them were very fluffy and useful for the way the Raven Guard wage war.

GW Shoulda published strike from the skies in the Codex!

Would buff alot of RG and BA armies.

Blood Angels already have that ability in Forlorn Fury. Except it doesn't require the unit to have arrived via deep strike in the same turn. Same effect, same cost.

 

It's actually what I used as the balance point for the idea.

Probably would be better, given that in the fluff, we Sons of Corax utilize Scouts far more than other Chapters, it should be that for 1CP we can drop down within 1d6" of a unit of Scouts, but not within 1" of enemy models.

 

I would also like to see a Stratagem where Thunderfire Cannons and Whirlwinds can reroll 1s to hit units within 2d6" and Line of Sight of a Scout Squad.

 

Or, give the Phobos Captain or Phobos Lieutenant a Stratagem that lets Thunderfire Cannons or Whirlwinds benefit from their respective aura when firing at a unit within 2d6" and line of sight of the character.

 

Also, I want a Stratagem where a Stormraven can arrive via Deep Strike like a Drop Pod. I think we used to have something like that, but I would definitely invest in a Stormraven if I could do that to deliver an Ironclad Dreadnought, a squad of Multimelta Devastators, a ToT Lieutenant, Apothecary, and 3 Company Veterans with Storm Bolters and Chainswords.

 

Also, I hope to see a campaign drop where the Raven Guard utilize Vanguard Primaris to devastating effect. Hell, have the Sisters in the mix as well, though it will be doubtful they will realize we are even there, unless we reveal ourselves. Even if we do, they will doubt that we are there in force, which is for the best, they will fight all the harder if they believe they are soon to be martyred.

Is there a +1 CP for a patrol of Scouts and/or Infiltrators?

 

I’d like to see something for Primaris units given their cost/limited numbers but nothing strikes me as RG or even general Primaris Astartes that makes sense narratively. It has to be effective and themed to make sense to me. ;)

I want SftS so go back to how it was.

 

I'd also love something that buffs Sniper units or jump pack units.

 

1CP - Units with jump packs can advance 2D6, or jump pack units can advance and charge in the same round

1CP - Units equipped with SNIPER weapons can move and fire without penalty
