BT Upgrade Question

Brothers.

 

Does anyone have an itemized list of the bits in a BT upgrade kit? I'm about to give my current BT force to my younger sister and rebuild the entire army in MK III. I figured I'd ask here how much of each bit comes in the kits. If nobody knows I can always buy one to test, then finish mapping out my purchases.

Here's a photo of the contents of the venerable BT upgrade:

You get 2 sprues of all the infantry stuff and one vehicle upgrade sprue in the box, so multiply everything minus the Rhino and LR bits by two (so you get 2 of each special weapon, 20 shoulder pads, 8 boltguns etc.).

Fair enough!

 

Contents:

 

Infantry Upgrades: (Please note, this is the contents of the Sprues, because you get multiple sprues in the box, you can double all of the numbers below.)

 

  • Armour Powerpack with embossed Maltese cross and a scrap of material or parchment at the bottom.
  • 5 helmetted heads, One mark 4 helmet, two crusader variants and two mark 7 or 8 helmets with service studs
  • One unhelmetted head, bald with bionic left eye and service studs
  • 10 power armour shoulder pads. 5 are standard Maltese cross with skull. Two have Maltese crosses with scrollwork. The remaining three are as follows: One with a scrap of parchment or material and two purity seals, one with a scrap of parchment with a slightly embossed Maltese cross and the final one has an embossed circle with a further embossed Maltese cross.
  • Four sets of Boltgun arms. Each Boltgun is slightly different, but all are chained to the wrists of the right arm.
  • Four sets of Chainsword and bolt pistol Arms. Each arm is different, and all the weapons are chained to the wrists.
  • One power fist, again chained to the arm with an embossed Maltese cross. (Left arm)
  • One power axe, chained to the wrist, the head of the axe forms a stylised Maltese cross. (Right arm)
  • One power sword, arm extended, chained to the wrist (Left arm)
  • One BT plasma gun
  • One BT Meltagun
  • One BT flamer. (These all have little embossed Maltese crosses on them, but no chains as they don't come attached to any arms.)
  • Three torso fronts with tabards. Each is slightly different.
  • Two torso fronts without tabards. One is mark 6, the other mark 8, with a Maltese cross in the centre.

Terminator Parts

  • 5 Terminator shoulder pads. Two have Maltese crosses, themselves crossed with bones. One is a Maltese cross with central skull and a skull. The remaining two have Maltese crosses covered with purity or crusader seals.
  • Two Terminator pauldron tilting shields. Both have slightly different Maltese crosses with skulls in the centre.

 

Accessories:

  • One Holy Orb of Antioch
  • One Black Templar banner for a powerpack. 
  • Two sheathed power swords. One is flat backed so it can be mounted on a vehicle. The other is complete and can be held by an infantry model. 
  • There are four different Black Templar symbols which can be mounted on a vehicle. Two are Maltese crosses with central skulls, about half an inch square. The third is a Maltese cross with a scroll. The fourth is a winged Maltese cross with a scroll below it.
  • Two reliquaries, one hangs from a chain attached to a purity seal, the other is on its own.
  • One relic which consists of two skulls mounted inside an arch shaped frame.
  • One BT holstered pistol, there is an embossed Maltese cross on the holster.
  • One BT ammo pouch attached to a grenade and a relic cane thing. (I still don't know what that thing is.)
  • One rolled up scroll of paper.

Vehicle Parts: (All of which have various designs with Maltese Crosses, chains, scrolls and purity or Crusader seals.)

  • Two Land Raider side doors. 
  • Two Rhino side doors
  • One Land Raider front hatch
  • One Rhino front hull cover
  • One Black Templar Dreadnought Sarcophagus front. (Which is oddly not in the picture.)

Should be noted that special weapons are showing their age in that they do not come with hands modelled onto holding the grip of the weapon, which all current plastic kits do. Nothing too major, but it does require you to get hands from somewhere if you want to use them.

 

Everything else is pretty much usuable as is straight out of the box.

Out of interest, are you using a text to speech for the forum? I'm a little intrigued by the reasonable adjustments that you utilise in enjoying the hobby more generally, and what could be put in place on this forum

 

However, if you don't want to share that publicly, I understand that as well.

I do use a TTS reader to navigate the forums. All in all they're fairly accessible. I have a little trouble quoting people propperly in posts, but I could probably figure it out if I took the trouble to research that feature a little more. In general though, forums tend to be accessible. Most of them are built on old bones, which means there are no wild new jumps in technology that'd throw my tech off.

 

In a more general sense, being a blind Warhammer player boils down to 2 key things: Trust, and having a good attitude.

 

Trust comes into it in several ways. I can roll dice on my phone, but having to jump from rolling 40 dice to rerolling the 6 misses takes a lot of fiddling. it's faster to roll physical dice in front of my opponent, they hand me the misses, and I reroll those. I could roll them and touch every face to do this myself, but that takes a lot of time. Also,w hile I"m measuring out the distance that unit A can move, I tend to ask my opponent if they'd mind measuring unit B. In a lot of ways, i'm playing With my opponent, not against them, heh. 

 

That brings us to point B, having a good attitude. If I asked my opponent to do all of the things mentioned above while being snappy and stand-offish, I'd very quickly start to get on people's nerves. The fact of the matter is, in order for games to zip along at a reasonable pace, i do have to ask for some help, and I will accidentally nudge buildings if I move a hand too quickly, or snag a shirt sleeve on a model''s upthrust sword. Sighted people do it, and I'm even more prone to. So having fun, joking, not being a hard ass about things. Those are a big part of how I'm able to play.

 

It also doesn't hurt that I've got a fairly good memory. I can't remember every rule from every army perfectly, but I'm pretty good about retaining information. If I've been read a stat line a couple of times it'll stick with me for months. People don't have to look things up quite as often if I'm hanging around their table. But that also plays into the attitude thing. If I were an insufferable turd with my knowledge I'd get annoying. Warhammer has been a surprisingly good way for me to work on my social skills.
